Mark slowly stood up and wiped the blood away. "He says that, yet he turns away from my house as soon as the confrontatons over." Mark had always been able to tell if someone's intentions were good or bad, and his were definitely bad.

"You know what, I'm going to teach you a little life lesson. I was going to your house to steal stuff from it because fuck-a-doodle doo, I can't get a job. I have to resort to this to survive. So before you go acting like a self-righteous little shit, think of how others suffer."
David walks off, he had enough of this. He was done with scavenging for food and stealing. He would show that kid he wasn't scum. He wanted respect like when he was in the Enclave. He knew what he wanted to do. He walked over to the Brotherhood of Steel Members. His Grand father had served at Navarro and had told David about this group. They had always interested David, with their isolationism and techno-religious beliefs."Hey is it possible if I can join you guys?"

"Hey hey hey, I kinda' respect you, but don't join them, they nearly destroyed you guys if i'm right?"

Tom really didn't want this guy to join the Brotherhood, he seemed like the sort of guy that could actually help him instead of leading him on a wild goose chase.

Tom lowered his speech down to a whisper, "Oh yeah, don't pretend your not Enclave, I see your badge", Tom pointed at the extremely tattered Enclave badge, "Officer right?".

Mark stood up. "Knew it. I'm never wrong when it comes to that stuff." He muttered slowly walking back to his house. "If you need food or money go steal it from raiders, or from the abandoned Super Duper Mart, not that far off from here." He went back into his house and walked into his room. He took out a 10mm pistol from under his bed he had been hiding from his parents. He had somehow killed a raider and took it from them a few months ago, he had some ammo for it, but not much. He loaded it, changed into his regular clothes and threw on a jacket, which he hid the gun under. "I'll show him, how easy it is to get some caps."

Jake sat down with his newly made tea, looked out the window, and listened to the radio, he wasn't really listening, but there was something about rider forces massing together, children going missing, and some wastelander who decided it would be cool to poison an entire shipment of watter headed to springvale. "ah yes, another day in the wonderful wastes"

Tom looked to his right and just noticed a man staring at him and the other man through his window with his tea. But, Tom wanted to know what the Enclave officer was going to say.

"I was a Corporal, but during the attack on the jefferson memorial I was brevetted to Lieutenant. Colonel Autumn was never found so command blamed him, and I was about to enforce my promotion when Adams Air Force Base was attacked. We lost. Maybe you have a point, I assume you want to follow it up by saying we work together. I'm David White."
David turned to the Paladins and said,"Ignore what I said. I'll see you guys later."

David waited for the man to reply.

"I'm Tom Searl, i'm a Talon Company operative, scratch that used to be a Talon Company operative, my platoon was wiped out, and yes I would like to work with you, together we might bother accomplish what we need to do".

Tom was eager to get going he found a guy who might actually help him and in return he'll be helping the guy. To Tom, David seemed like the sort of guy to get a job done.

Mark opened his window and flipped over it. He closed the window before dropping to the ground. He crouched not letting his parents see him. He ran off towards the Super-Duper Mart, which mysteriously still had supplies in it. He took the gun just in case he met up with some kind of danger. As he ran he was careful not to let anyone spot him.

"I'm Listening."
David waited for Tom to reply. You didn't find many talon company today, with most either having been killed or fled. For one to come up and offer you a job wasn't something you saw every day either. David had no doubt it would pay well, which would allow him to move to California.

"I know you don't know where that guy who I showed you is, but I think I might now where he is", Tom continued "One year ago, I was told by a local in Fairfax that the guy I was looking for passed through there on his way to Tenpenny Tower, he might be there, willing to come with me, we can go 50-50 on any money we make in the process".

Tom was originally thinking 60-40, but it seemed like the guy honestly wanted to get some work, Tom wasn't going to put him down on the pay for that. Plus, it isn't exactly like you come across former members of Enclave everyday, well once he did, but that's a different song for a different day, and he wasn't about to tell David yet, he needed to trust him.

Once Mark was out of sight he sprinted for the Super-Duper Mart, the pistol in his hand. It didn't take him more then two minutes to get there. He didn't see anyone or anything in front of the store. First he searches the two Nuka Cola machines and finds a Nuka Cola and drinks it before heading into the Super-Duper Mart.

Once inside he spotted another Nuka Cola machine with no Nuka Colas in it. He put his back against the wall listening for noices that could indicate that people were in there. He heard voices so he took a quick peak and saw three Brotherhood of Steel members talking. He decided to sneak past them and slide over a counter and hid behind it. He got down to the ground and started crawling over to a fridge. He slowly slid the fridge open and dumped the food into a leather bag he had brought. He slowly closed the fridge and started clawing back over to the edge of the counter. He sat up and put his back up to it. He waited for Brotherhood of Steel members to move away, before he jumped over the counter and dashed for the door, successfully making it, he left the Super-Duper Mart.

Once he was back outside he rushed back to Springvale.

"Deal. Once we get there though, I'll do the talking. I saw how you handled that Paladin, and knowing how pompous those residents are at tenpenny tower, I don't want you starting a fight because of one of their snide comments. I can't remember if they were ghouls or just humans. Dosen't matter."
David looked to the south, and started walking in that direction. He gestured for Tom to follow.

Tom followed him down the street, Tom was ready for this, and he started thinking to himself, about the man he was travelling with. Was he from Navarro, Adams, Raven Rock, maybe even the Poseidon Rig?

"So i'm travelling with you, may as well know more about you. Are you from the west, like Navarro and that, or here in the west, like Adams Base? Before you ask how I know about Navarro, my platoon sergeant was from The Hub, he used to tell me 'bout the west coast all the time back at Bannistor, so where?"

Tom wanted to know as much about the enclave officer as much as he could, he needed to have someone he could trust at his side.

"I'm from a place thousands of miles east of here, used to call it Great Britain in the before-times, it was a real cluster-fuck over there, definitely worse than here, that's ma' self then. I lived on a coastal town, absolutely riddled with these things called Deathclaws, scary fuckers they were, got 4 of them myself, hard though!"

Tom realised he was talking too much and David hadn't talked yet, they had made it quite a far way out into the wastes by the time he had finished.

"My parents came from Navarro. I was stationed at Adams until 3 years ago. Kudos to you if you made it here from Britain. I wonder how the deathclaws adpated to the climate there, considering the ones here are meant for desert or harsh terrain."
David notices the tower in the distance. He hoped that Alistair Tenpenny and the Lone Wanderer hadn't allied with each other. He didn't need a millionaire and an unkillable man to fight at the same time.

"Well over in Britain, the deathclaws had thick shaggy fur, which probably kept them warm in the harsh blizzards we faced back east. Apparently they were mutated from bearded dragons, a common pet around the time of the great war" Tom was impressed that he survived in Adams, considering what happened 3 years ago there.

"How did you survive the orbital bombardment that happened down there? I myself got here by an abandoned fishing boat, it was a very, very long journey, i'll give it that".

Tom also looked at the tower to his west. He then took a sip of his whiskey bottle, and squinted at the tower.

"Won't take more than 'bout an hour and half to get there".

"I was fighting at the time. I've been running ever since then, from my past...."
David cuts off and then cotinues to walk ahead. He looked at the horizion and sighed.

Mark gets back to Springvale. He climbs back up to his room, opens the window and crawls through. He emptied the contents onto his bed and examined the items. Once he put the food away he decided that he wanted to start exploring the wastes. "I might be over my head, but I really want some excitement in my life so...I guess I'll go ask Lucky Harith if I can become his permanent guard.

He took out his backpack for extra carrying space and filled it and it's pockets with food and water. The backpack had a special pouch to put caps, so he filled it with all of his caps. He unzipped it and put in a handful of comics to read for entertainment. He hooked on a belt with a gun holder and spots for four extra clips. He only had one extra clip so he fully filled the two clips, he put one in the gun and put the other one in the slot. He put the other boxes of ammo in the pack. He found spare parts for guns and put them in the backpack. Finally, he takes out a map of the wasteland and puts it in a pocket on the side of the pack for quick and easy reach. Mark decided he would have breakfast the next day then sneak out.

He hides the belt under his bed and puts the backpack back in the closet. He lies down in his bed and closes his eyes.

Tenpenny Tower was looming over them now, and it was getting late. Tom buzzed the intercom at the gate.

"Have you got enough space in there for two travelers staying the night?"

Then another voice came, you could immediately tell he was as arrogant as any son of a bitch who lived here

"How much will it worth to yer'?" the voice was hispanic, it was clear they got rid of the original head guard.

Tom replied, hoping he wouldn't want more,

"How's about left over's of a bottle of whiskey?"

There was a long pause, then the gates buzzed open, Tom threw the whiskey bottle to the chief guard, then sat down on one of the outside chairs, and offered a seat to David.

"I heard that there's a Enclave base up in Chicago, I think that's in Illinois, or somewhere like that. Maybe after this you can hop on one of those new train service's that run on pre-war rail-lines, they goes past the commonwealth up to the Pitt, maybe you can see if any caravans or boats would drop you off nearby?"

Tom was just making small talk, but he still wanted to know nonetheless what this man was going to do once he finished helping him.

"I'm heading west. I'm done with the enclave. Oh, and I think that guard has made you his bitch. I doubt he let us in for half a bottle of whiskey. You may not believe me now but don't blame me when hes pounding you in the barracks."
David smiled at his digusting joke. He wondered what had happened to Tenpenny tower. The enclave had always heard reports of a human only residence for those who could pay and then it got sketchy. Mr. Tenpenny himself would probably make them perform a service before divulging any info on the Lone Wanderer. Tom was eager, perhaps too much, and David didn't want to go on some suicide mission to fuel the kids need for revenge.
