Tom turned around, despite the apparent threat of the single centaur, to look at David.
"Woah, shit, I thought you were thinking of wrong things, you'd been quite for a long time, even when I made an attempt to talk to you, II really thought you were thinking of leaving that night too!" Tom knew what he was saying was a lie, but didn't really care, he just needed a reason to justify what he did. Tom knew what he did was wrong, he just wanted to know something.
"Hey here's your pay, hope it's decent" Tom slipped out a small bag of caps that he previously hadn't showed to Lucky, and Lucky still didn't see it, "Here's 50 caps, hope it's good enough, it may seem like a bit, but, you wanna' keep on the bandwagon?"
Tom saw David finally hit the centaur in the head and kill the bugger, the group continued along the bridge, for some reason Lucky didn't give a crap about David approaching the group, probably just thought he was friend of Tom.
"Were heading to the Rivet, then up to Old Olney, then i'm ditching this group there to hop on a train north, don't worry they know about it" Tom looked over to Lucky and lowered his voice to a whisper, "I'm heading north...to get to the pitt, only ever been there once, shit hole, slaver town, but apparently it's coming on leaps and bounds, you wanna go up there with me?"
Tom realised what he was asking was a big favour, but he needed back-up where he was going.
