About 76

Ziggy Stardust

Space Alien
People have been slamming it a lot, saying its a steaming pile of shit, but personally, I think its the best fallout game since brotherhood of steel. So how about, to fight against all the negativity, this thread will be dedicated exclusively to the positives about the game.

This is a joke, in case you couldn’t tell

It's going to be a short thread then.
Positive: It looks reasonable pretty for a game from 2007.

It's an *undeniable sign of what we've been saying for years: the franchise is going down the toilet...err maybe that wasn't positive enough. OOH I know! It's a massive wakeup call! Yes. That is good.

*to everyone who isn't, or doesn't have the mind of, a child

The color palette is also neat, kind of what you'd expect after 200 years...oh poo. Um..shit. The lighting...yes! It tracks to your POV like you're god of shadows or something. That's cool, I guess. And those fucking godrays...that shoot out of the low-poly ground, do so at your bidding!

And the gunplay that makes up the lion's share of the experience is almost as good as it was in Fo4...which was roughly par for the industry a few years ago.

I loooove the super mutants. It really shoves in the face of that bad boy hunk called Master. He probably stole the super mutant creation from west tek. smh.

Fallout 4 was a gross disappointment (still playable not not a 10/10 like Fallout 3) but I can't talk about why because I have to roll my eyes at the people who can't see a difference between the awesomeness of Fallout 3 and the failures of Fallout 4.

I preordered Fallout 76 but didn't play it because I also live....in West Virginia.

So unlike other people who immortalize Fallout 1 and 2 (which are great games, just not as good as F3), I actually had room to be disappointed by Fallout 76. Especially since I consider Skyrim my all time favorite games.

In short, people have difficulty with the fact I *LIKE* Bethesda games. So, people here think I might as well be speaking Greek because they hate ALL Bethesda games so they can't comprehend why 76 is a step down from their other works.

This is drama.

I like Fallout 3 (fun game back in 2009, 6/10. could have gained a higher score if half of the dlcs were not an abortion) and no one here has ever criticized me for it.

I know we are supposed to dismiss anything CTPhipps says about Fallout because he's factually wrong about anything Fallout, but i have never seen anyone say a more wrong statement than this.

Fallout 3 and 4 are nigh similar to me. Butchering of lore, stupid plot with no redeeming characters, terrible factions, most quests with no moral ambiguity and when it has, it's so poorly done that is laughable and terrible, iredeemable gameplay.

And when it comes to Fallout 76, it just seems to be a continuation of the design of the previous Bethesda Fallout games. Fallout 3 took out good writing, world building, characters, and everything else that made the franchise good. Then Fallout 4 just continued ever further and Fallout 76 is just the latest state of that trend.

There is a difference between criticizing something and being an outright dick about it. I joined this site despite reading a lot of negativity about it, about how members are hostile to fans of the Bethesda FOs. I have openly admitted to playing and even enjoying 3 and 4, and nobody here has been cruel toward me. In fact, I'll say nobody really gives a damn.

Yeah, it's pretty much my point. I can't discuss the issue since the hate of all things Bethesda is so strong you can't argue a game is worse than another because they're already at Maximum Hate.

So when I say Fallout 4 is a big step down, it's like I'm saying being shot in the nuts versus set on fire is worse to people.

Or that Fallout 76 is by far the worst thing they've ever done.

That's like comparing two pieces of shit. One might smell not as bad as the other, but they are still both pieces of shit.

And i like Daggerfall and Morrowind, so that "you just hate all Bethesda thing" can burn in the deepest pits of hell. I hate bad Bethesda games.

I somehow liked all Bethesda games with the exception of Arena (damn controls), Skyrim and Fallout 4.

So that means I enjoyed: Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 (I never played IHRA Professional Drag Racing or any of the action and FPS games like Redguard or Terminator, so I have no opinion about those).

But I hate all things Bethesda apparently. :look:

Different strokes for different folks. If everyone here liked the same games all the time, I imagine this place would get pretty boring. I can accept if people think the Beth games are garbage, and I can understand why people hate 4 and 76.

Some advice from Yours Truly.
Don't spend your time worrying about what people think of the games you enjoy. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Just play it!

In general Fallout 3 and 4 are both fun games and I like them, I just don't like them as fallout games. Same thing can be said for other games from my favourite franchises too, like Saints row and Dead Rising.

Yeah, it's frustrating as I have a lot to say but no one who cares.

*sigh*

Poor is the Bethesda Fallout fan.

That's not always true, it depends...

Except New Vegas isn't shit in the slightest. Just a flawed game.
Eh, "isn't shit in the slightest" is downplaying New Vegas's flaws. Depending on what you prefer in RPGs in general, Gizmo's pic may or may not be true for some people. At least, it's true for me.

But then again, most of the shitty parts in New Vegas were inherited from Fallout 3, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
