"Advanced Power Armour Mk II"

Sergeant Dornan also refers to the power armour that you acquire in Navarro as the "Mark II Power Combat Armour". They're the same thing just with different artistic designs (one being notably worse than the other). I mean when a model of some is upgraded to the next versions (or mark in this case) it's not an entirely redesigned piece of equipment is it? Just a slightly altered design of the previous.

Besides, in Fallout 4 where the Enclave Power Armour is returning in it's proper classic look, the different "Mark" appear as upgrades (as the -a,-b,-c on the end of T51 are as-well). Which would seem to confirm that there's one suit of Enclave power armour and the Mark designations just being slight improvements on the previous one.

Bethesda just disgusts me. T-51b was the last model of power armor made before the war, and yet here we have more models added in- undoubtedly, BCUZ TEHY LOOK SO KOOL!!1 Lore nukes, as usual.

Seeing how the world has advanced quite a bit is it so hard to belive they can actually make new stuff? Or maybe we should just run around with pre war guns and bows?

Really? Power armor? New models? That's impossible, unless you're the Enclave.

Yep, without a powerful manufacturing base backing you up, shit like Power Armour is a pipe dream. Even the NCR in NV don't have that level of manufacturing ability, and even if they did, where'd they get the resources?

Bethesda don't care about logic or consistency of setting though, who cares if the world's natural resources were mostly depleted, POWAH ARMAH IS TEH COOLZ, MUST HAVE, logic be damned. They'll probably just retcon, or say the Institute has a magical resource generator (like Dead Money's vending machines but without the limits and reasonable lore behind it). Hell, they already turned the GECK into a magical matter reconstructor

Classic Fallout 2 Advanced Power Armor 4ever!

IMHO, the coolest looking armor in any of the games. I'm actually working on a cosplay of this armor because I, too, want to look like a giant scary mechanical insect.

According to the Wiki, the FO2 Advanced Power Armor and Advanced Power Armor MkII look exactly the same, with slightly different compositions that give them slightly different weights. This armor appears years later in FO:NV, though showing its age with rust, etc. it appears to be the same armor. The X-01 looks similar, but IMO the X-01's shoulder cowl redesign makes it look like the wearer has fashioned armor out of a 55-gallon drum. And there was nothing that looked remotely like this in FO3.

Enclave power armor is what a next generation of combat platform should be, the one that continue the legacy of tank/armored vechile ever since world war. re-hydration system, excretion filtering for any exiting body fluid, etc. A warrior in these beast would have more survival capability especially when out of supply line

Except for that insanely silly vent fan they added [ie. dinner plate sized hole] in the back ~over the wearer's spine, where the radiation symbol on the power-cell is supposed to be.

Ahh crap, you're right. It was a solid back piece in FO2, wasn't it? Not a very practical place to put a hole in your armor, is it? Well, there goes my plan for having an actual battery-operated fan built into my cosplay armor so I don't fog up the helmet.

Or do you suppose perhaps the fan was always there, and it was simply a matter of game graphics? (I'd really love a ventilated helmet but want to remain true to FO2.)

That fan doesn't exist in Fallout 2... This doesn't mean that a moving fan wouldn't be eye catching (or downright useful) on the costume; and most [uninformed] fans will wonder why there is no fan.

... but it wouldn't be accurate, if that matters.

I can't imagine it was a graphics issue; it's trivial to have included a fan in the animations, if it was ever intended to have one.

BTW... If you find a source for the rubber tubing on the helmet; please do post it in your cosplay/thread; (or send it to me, thanks).

Pff... An Enclave trooper never turns his back on the enemy. A hole in the back is of no significance.
This comment is pure weapons-grade fissionable awesomeness. Makes me proud to be an American.

Sure thing! The finely netted texture of the smaller tubes is reminiscent of dishwasher feed line tubing, only black instead of clear. Thought I'd experiment with that. The large corrugated lower tube looks a lot like a universal-fit car radiator hose, too. I will make sure you get the results when I test these theories.

Also--that animation--whoa! Did you make that?

The advanced power mark II has a hideous design (not as bad as hellfire armore at least) but apart from that it doesn't bother me much...

I did; it's not in-game though, it's just a gif example.

*But if you check my sig... that's in-game.

I'm quite partial to it myself. It's probably my favorite item/prop in the series; t-51b being my second favorite thing in the series.

*I have the ADV-MKII version of my avatar, but side by side, the t-51b version has always look better to me, for some reason... but I'm keeping it in case I ever want to switch.

Whoa, I didn't know I was having an encounter with greatness! I followed the link in your sig--how cool that you know how to do that! I don't know how to make a GIF, let alone a mod. (In fact, I don't even know how to install one, hubby takes care of that for me.). The FO2 Advanced Power Armor you created looks very true to the FO2 original. I understand it's a lot of work and a great labor of love for the game. Thanks for doing it!

- Was the Enclave consisting of a singe division in the Oil-Rig/Navarro or was it already spread all over the USA ?
The Enclave exchange operator would seem to repeatedly confirm that by his reactions to the player during their conversation.

- How much their overall forces are crippled ?
I would say decimated [from the impression given]; nothing left, aside from the stragglers patrolling the outskirts of Navarro when the rig exploded.
(None of whom would likely profess their association with Enclave to anyone outside of Enclave, after the rig and Navarro were destroyed... It'd be them against the town, as they tried to escape from it.)
