African Gray parrot

You know you have a point here. Crows or Raves (I dont know the difference at the moment)
Corvus spp., some 40-ish species in the genus Corvus, larger species called "Ravens", smaller species called "Crows" (Look Ma, zoology minor! ;))
are some of the smartest creatures for example, by just considering their size.
They definitely are. Around here they actually learned that

me with shotgun = danger
me without shotgun = no danger

I walk over the field carrying the 12 G, they flee. I walk over the field empty-handed, they continue to dig up the seeds.

The farmers are quite pissed. I find it rather amusing, actually.

A cat and crow are friends? No way! Here they are. THough one should consider that neither the crow nor the cat have been raised by "humans" to say that. So they really just stayed together without any influence by humans.
That is nauseatingly cute. Maternal instinct, anyone?

@DexterMorgan: could you please take some pictures of the bird and it's cage? I'm quite interested.

Crows are one of the few (wild) creatures in the world that can just goof around and have fun. Saw some nature thing on the television, they play games with each other, and also enjoy the company of wolves. Ever see those crows in Japan, smart little guys:

PS: Always wanted a pet crow, perched on my shoulder.

Back in Bosnia I used to live in a linden-tree lined street that was packed with murders of crows. They are very intelligent critters for sure. I noticed they watch passersby and if they register interest they will keep a lot bigger distance rather than if you're just walking and not paying attention to them.

Also, I saw a crow observing a cat that was creeping up on a bunch of pigeons feeding. It then swooped over the pigeon flock that was on the ground cawing at them and they took flight. The cat looked quite pissed :D

due to the crow's nature, i bet he did it to mess with the cat's dinner rather than to protect the other flying rats...

Here you go:

Obviously the cage is not big enough but I'm moving in a couple of days and then we'll look into building a big one. Also, he looks scruffy because the piece of shit sprinkler I bought to give it "baths" broke on second use.

Yeah. Better don't get him pissed. Or have a large flyswatter handy at all times.

Is it just me, or does he resemble a vulture with a bad case of mallophaga in the first pic?

Anyway, nice bird. Take care.
