A li'l FYI, even in the Bimini test detonations, most ships survived, unless they were almost directly under point zero. So our carrier could have possibly survived a detonation.

Bimini or Bikini Atoll?

Hope it wasn't Bimini, or folks in Florida are going to be glowing.

@Pope Viper, lol, yeah I meant Bikini, my bad, it was late last night. :D

@SuAside, yeah truth be told I am loving the concept art. Did not like the 'Mordor' piece that much, but I loved the Capitol building and this last one. Hell, one thing different from our universe is the height restrictions in DC. They must have removed it in Beth's DC. No such critter in our DC as a skyscraper.

Posted similar thoughts on DAC: Seems DC is gonna feature pretty heavily. Maybe there's an oblivion analogy here: main city, and the lands on its outskirts, just like it was in Oblivion.
THey could be going in a GTA direction, as in free roaming city.
Or it could be huge - i.e. life sized - and lots of ruins with smaller independent settlements scattered throughout it.
The best way, if they want to have a 'main' city, would be to go with PS:T's direction - a Sigil type place where you branch out to do other things.

Alternatively, DC could just be in the art because people will recognise it.

Vault Dweller, a cool example of these stranded ships is in On The Beach by Nevil Shute

The Last Ship by William Brinkley was also a good read. A guided-missile destroyer out to sea when the nuclear exchange takes place.
