America's newest drug

You can't just flush away the radiation (unless some radioactive isotopes make their way into the system), it just penetrates your body and destroys everything in its way.

Err, you realise that the vast majority of poisonings are attributed to radioactive isotopes in the system? So actually, if it's an alpha emitting isotope, 'flushing it away' is probably your best bet...

From PubMed

Ex-Rad is among a series of small molecule kinase inhibitors. Western blot analyses indicated that the radiation protection provided by Ex-Rad resulted in reduced levels of pro-apoptosis proteins such as p53 as well as its downstream regulators p21, Bax, c-Abl and p73, indicating that Ex-Rad could rescue cells from ionizing radiation-induced p53-dependent apoptosis.

So, this rescues the cell from programmed cell death because of DNA damage. I wonder what that does to the long-term cancer rate of the subjects...

Maybe better than dying right away.

Good find, and very good point. Logic says that it will substantially increase cancer rates, though I'd imagine the drug has a short half life, to minimize this.

^ The whole ball/dick shrinkage thing is somewhat a myth. Ok, it does happen, but only if you don't know what you're doing with regards to cycles. Not that I've ever taken steroids (or even been to a gym..)

Steroids definetly have a lot of nasty sideeffects of one is even prostate cancer I think.

though would it be really possible to get some drug against radioactivity ? I mean ... it doesnt seem that likely to me.

I don't know that is worse - dick shrinking, or possible severe kidney and liver damage, or, in women's case, growing a dick (it is actually possible - clitoris is actually highly reduced penis (or a penis is highly developed clitoris) - it is very similarly built (sponge-like tissue), and even has similar function). Anyway, taking steroids is fucking stupid thing to do - muscles don't grow in size by being actually trained, myocytes just absorb more water and grow bigger, but aren't any stronger at all.

Anyway, dick shrinking is possible due to high content of female hormones in steroids.

You both speak as if there is a single drug named steroid. Steroids are a diverse class of chemical compounds, that have a wide array of affects on the human system. The various effects outlined are possible with steroid consumption, but are only attributed to certain steroids, or combination's thereof, the latter being the main incident.

The first statement is especially ignorant as steroids are almost exclusively formulated to contain a single hormone. The actual mechanism by which your penis may vanish, stems not from the hormone itself, but from the complex hormonal and metabolic changes it instigates in your body. There are a huge array of feedback loops within the hormonal system, yet it *is* entirely possible to know what side effects you would be exposing yourself to.

Please educate yourselves properly on this subject before wasting my time, which I should be spending on writing a biochemistry dissertation. Oh the irony.

myocytes just absorb more water and grow bigger, but aren't any stronger at all.

Again, there is truth in this yet the key word is the bolded 'any', which is what makes your statement untrue. Why the hell do you think steroids are used frequently in the medical profession to, for example, strengthen heart muscle?
