I have done many times man, but after you're being screwed one to many time you also become cynical.

Sorry to be the negative one but have any of you considered the possibility that this could turn out possible not as great as a lot suddenly expect?

Not trying to hex this, just trying to be realistic.

What I am afraid of is that Beth will restrict them to use the same outdated Gamebryo shit, the same crappy game mechanics and assets.

Moreover they can be the ones to make final decisions.
Then they will tell us: " See, you stupid fanboys, your beloved developers did the same thing as we've done before. So STFU, now we will do what we are doing best."

The most likely scenario is that Todd&Co are now working on TES5, but Bethsoft wants more money, so they decided to outsource the Fallout game. It's a very clever decision for them. Firstly, they put it the way that that is not a sequel. So they save the right to make a "true" sequel.

Secondly, involving the original developers will actually make many of us, who were against F3, buy the game. Saving the same mechanics will help the game not to lose the console audience. That's why I am afraid they will save it.

Thirdly, as I've said before, helps them to raise the income without putting too much resources in it. It's an experiment for them. If it works out, it's a pure cashflow source.

Profit. Profit. Profit.

Yes, it can turn into an ugly mess, if Bethsot puts in too many restrictions. But let us be optimists untill something bad happens ;)

Fairly recently, it was Scott Everts who also did area design work on the two NWN2 expansions. I seem to recall that it was him (amongst other Obsidian people) that attended a chat prior to the release of the second expansion. Seems like a nice person. And he has an extraordinary good eye as well it seems.
The NWN2 engine can be rather wonky, but some of the areas showcased in the expansions are in my opinion downright jaw dropping and I always felt they were quite overlooked visually.

I will still remain skeptical about this new game. It's a shame IMO that it will use the Fallout 3 engine as I think it will hamper my enjoyment of the game quite a lot. But hopefully OEI can bring something good to the table.

ScottE also has a side gig with Chris Taylor and Tom Decker.

He also posted several times here at NMA.

He also is the record holder for longest procrastinator on doing a dev profile for NMA.

I think he agreed to do one in...2003?

And, any REAL news about **collectables** for FO:NV?

Glow in the dark ... Harold bobble heads?

Walking tall ... Marcus action figures?

14mm's akimbo ... rootin' shootin' ... Talkin' Tandi(tm)?

Scruffy, fuzzy dice that shows the time and one's global position triangulated with Bethesda, ''Old'' Vegas, and one's next chance for a Micky-D 'Happy Meal'?

There be some lucritive choices and consequences!!!1!
