Scott Everts, an Interplay veteran, who did all the maps for Fallout and some maps for Fallout 2 is also involved into development of Fallout: New Vegas.

yeah, i saw this earlier. news has been damn positive these last 24 hours.

pure speculation, but....now that FOOL's been canned, basically...do you guys think Taylor will join in on this?

I think him joining Wasteland 2 at InXile might be more likely.

Seems too good to be true, and we all know how that works out..

I'm amazed. I'm trying to contain excitement, but the thoughts of a bunch of the old Black Isle crowd working on a Fallout game is just too much to ignore.
 
I just can't believe all those good news.

First, Beth releases FO3 and it is awesome.
Then, Fallout MMO goes to hell and work on Wasteland 2 starts instead.
And now, Fallout SINGLEPLAYER RPG is getting made by Obsidian, made up by many of the original FO devs.

Damn am I happy Beth bought the license back in 2004.I now really want Chris Taylor to join Obsidian.But if he joins InXile, it's all good too.
 
That's totally cool... I've seen that guy on BGG forever and never knew he was a former Interplay developer... waaaay cool.
 
i think this might just be Beth trying to kill the fallout fans with a heart attack. They give us hope and all of getting a fallout game that could resemble the original and then pull the plug on it or something. I'm gonna wait and see. If in a few months all is going well, then i'll be happy.

Maybe I'm blind, Ausir, but I couldn't see any confirmation of that on the links you posted.

Sorry to be the negative one but have any of you considered the possibility that this could turn out possible not as great as a lot suddenly expect?

Not trying to hex this, just trying to be realistic.
 
Yes.
I only expect this to be fallout 3 with a lot better writing and gameplay tweaks. And more coherent setting.
It would be actually "good".
