Any spooky locations or things in New Vegas?

First time out of the vault
Anything creepy about this game at all? I guess most of the scariness in this game comes from the more subtle twisted humans, like the cannibals of the Ultra Luxe. But I'm thinking more spooky stuff, like creepy locations or maybe urban legends?

If you're looking for places like Fallout 3's Dunwich building, you're going to have to look elsewhere.

The graveyard at Goodsprings is a little creepy at night due to the whispering and I've always thought Vault 22 is too due to the unnatural state it's in. There's also a farm (can't remember the name) with malnourished livestock where you can find notes of the owner going mad and eventually setting the barn on fire.

Dead Money's Sierra Madre is probably the kind of location you're after. Dense toxic fog, decaying buildings, graffiti left by those who came before, not to mention the ghost people.

Never forget about WATER TOWER!!!

On serious note- Nipton with all those Gangers dying on crosses, old, dark town hall filled with bodies, burning stakes and Boxcars story. And also a quest from Vulpes that simply is telling about massacre to some poor sarge, who then commits suicide.

Woah really? I never knew he killed himself.

You forgot one thing about Nipton...the soundtrack.

Who? The Sergeant at Mojave Outpost who's wandering around the statue? Iirc he's still there, lollygagging near the statue.

in some of my playtrough he disappear after the quest , i think it some sort of bug since it is rare and after patching my game he never disapear again

Whole life in lie...
Well, I'm sure he's still there because iirc I left Mojave Outpost in my very first playthrough after giving him the info from Vulpes, and then I came back much later for Cass and I remembered the guy's still lollygagging near the statue. I'll see if he's still there in my current playthrough.

Yep, V22 got some nasty surprises, worked wonders in combination with those fragmented stories and medical reports in terminals! (I think the abandoned barn got destroyed by a kid living there btw.)

Another spooky location for me was Camp Guardian including underground levels, good design with journal pages scattered everywhere and distress signal turned on.

Camp Guardian, Nipton, and the Ultra Luxe. To me the Ultra Luxe takes the cake, simply because while we were exposed to cannibals before, we were never so 'surrounded', no quest really put us in a labyrinth with them. The facade falls, the crimes mount, the realization seeps in, you know? Nipton is just a grisly sight and the shittiness of the inhabitants really washes it down while Camp Guardian is simply a clash of man vs nature; nothing really terrible, just unfortunate.

New Vegas has some pretty freaky locations and atmosphere, in big park thanks to Mark Morgans ambient and the shear amount empty space in parts of the map between locations with a small empty building here and there. This was something that was criticized by alot of people at first, but to me it just added to the atmosphere and made it more lonely with empty amounts of space and field.

The Vaults are pretty creepy too. Also, Nightkin have straight up scared the shit out of me on more than one occasion. REPCONN's basement and the facility itself was extremely eerie and uncomfortable.

Turn off the radio and wander through the desert, listen when this particular soundtrack comes and you'll understand how spooky this game can be.

I'd suggest using the mod Spooky New Vegas radio, with Dusty weather and Melancholy Dust ENB, plus Digital Nightmare. These mods by themselves can turn the entire game into a more horror, spooky game.

I really, REALLY love Digital Nightmare, but I remembered it completely replace most, if not all, of the original ambient music of the game. I still want to hear the original OSTs, so please confirm to me that Digital Nightmare only add to the music list rather than outright replacing it.

Helàs, as far as I remember Digital Nightmare replaces every single track. Shame for the original legion and Hoover Dam themes, which are great. The only way to have them play with Digital Nightmare would be to add them to the mod folder manually.

Damn, that's a shame. And I'm too lazy to try adding those sound files into the game's folder and try to make them work. Oh well, probably gonna tick those mod in Mod Organizer if I'm gonna play Fallout 3 by way of TTW. Probably.

This has to be because of phobia, but every location where Cazadores habit. They are usually in mountainous, hilly sides with civilization being too big walk away to reach for any sort of help. Even in Quarry Junction, at least you can draw Deathclaws to Sloan. Cazador Nest, Silver Peak Mine, Calville Bay Harbor, Great Khan Camp, all just nervous to go into or look at.

Actually Great Khan Camp moreso, because of the bodies there. Some of them were burned dark red and it was not by Cazadores there....
