Oops... Looks like it wasn't such a clean install after all. Actually I installed the game over in the same place, which means that several of the files under 'data' folder were left behind. So, basically I stuck the "a" version of the fixes on top of Seraph's patch, and that fixed the ghoul/mutant issue?

I decided to do a proper clean install and I accidentally also deleted my saved games... Well, I did try 1.02 patch and "b" fixes, started a new game and gave the inoculations perk with Falche, but it still doesn't display the correct picture.

Well using ANY patch that is out there will still have the ghoul/mutant naming issue. I am guessing you are a citizen of Vault City then? From what I saw in Seraph's code the naming is still incorrect if you are not a citizen. Either way, this issue is fixed in my new release and we will now move on. 8) :D

Hmm..that is really weird. I did not touch anything involving that perk and I can see it just fine. Let me mess around with that a little bit more and see what I can do though. When you say "I did try 1.02 patch" does that mean you installed the UK patch? I will get back to you after some more testing.

Yes, I installed the UK patch. It seems to be that if I put the "a" fix on a fresh install Falche can't read the resulting saves anymore.

And I did a quick run to Gecko and Vault City as soon as I cleared the Temple of Trials. Now I can confirm that it was the remnants of Seraph's patch which corrected Lenny being called a ghoul. And to answer your earlier question, I was a citizen when I encountered the issue previously, though I did it by passing the citizenship test.

Just did a fresh install and then put my version "a" on top. No problem with using Falche on the saves under my patched version. I can also see the Inoculation perk picture just fine.

I am at a loss here.... Can anyone else confirm this?

EDIT: Oh and I think the reason Falche cannot read the resulting saves after putting version "a" on your fresh install is because the .exe included in my version "a" is for US versions only.

EDIT 2: Damn, meant to hit edit but hit quote by accident...oh well. :D

When I had used your patch, the guards did call the Lenny and Marcus by their right race names.

I never noticed any issues with the Vault City Inoculations.

I did notice the wells didn't get me radiated, never noticed it in the small info box nor on my character sheet... The Court Yard guards still refered to me as Citizen rather then 'Captain' when I got my nomination.

I did not add in any of the radiation from the wells or the captain title. You will only get those if you install Seraph's patch.

Oh, and I got all the endings working perfectly. You can now get the 2 missing bad endings for Vault City. I won't spoil it (unless you know already) but they revolve around you killing everyone there and how you handle the Gecko situation. 8) I also got the endings for Marcus, the Elder, Harold, the President, and the Hubologists all showing up and working perfectly. The only thing I have left is to try and find a new picture for Harold and the Hubologists. If anyone knows of any good pictures out there that I can use, I can then convert it to .frm and put it in. Right now the Hubologists are using the San Fran pic and Harold is using the good Gecko ending pic.

Release should be Saturday. :D

your doing a might fine job there Killap. Keep up the good work.
When you done with your patch I'm sure to try out the patch.

Did you apply the packed or unpacked version of Seraph's patch? At least for me his fixes combined with killap's worked best with the unpacked version.

A very minor bug which I noticed: in Vault City Moore's floating text appears at the street corner even at nighttime when he isn't there.

Only use his unpacked version since you cannot use both a .dat and unpacked files in a folder. Fallout will only look in one place.

Never noticed that before...I will check it out.

Yes, I had used the unpacked seraph files, and well, I will be sure to use this method... tell me, will it help to add his scripts and your scripts.

It doesn't seem like there's a fix for the game hanging sometimes when you sleep with Miria or Davin in Modoc. Nobody seems to know what triggers it and it's pretty random. When you sleep with either one the screen goes dark for a second and when the view returns Grisham should be in the room and your possessions on the floor (or with Seraph's patch only your armor is removed and put into inventory). However, sometimes the screen stays black and ambient sound continues to play.

Reading Per's Fallout 2 guide I noticed the following about the main computer in Vault City vault:
Per Jorner said:
IN<4: Reaching into the computer will give you an electric shock and damage depending on your current Hit Points (it will never kill you, even if you're at 1 HP). Apparently this was also supposed to raise your Damage Resistance to electrical damage, but I think it's bugged and anyway there's no easy way to verify this.
Has anyone looked into this?

Going from bugs to minor additions, the phaser (most likely to be included in the crashed shuttle special encounter) and zip gun exist in the code, sans pictures. I believe Celestial added these or was working on it. There are good graphics in Fallout Tactics that could be used for zip gun and pictures of Star Trek phasers shouldn't be too hard to come by. Just please don't use the "techno-banana" design, as a friend of mine calls the Next Generation -era phasers.

I just spent a good bit of time today after reading this testing all possibilities of sleeping with the 2 Grisham kids. player male/female-Miria, player male/female-rape Miria, player male/female-Davin. I fixed some of the code up and now I can do all those combinations a million times and I never encounter an endless blackout. I think it is finally fixed!

I also know that Seraph added in Biff and Bo incase you kill Grisam or Jo. I tested this out and it appears to work fine as well except...if you kill Jo and then try and have a same sex marriage. When that occurs, you get an endless blackout. No idea why though and frankly if you kill the mayor and then want to have a same sex marriage all in the same day, you deserve an endless black out 8)

Yeah, I read about that but never really went into the code to look. I suppose I will add it to my list. I fear it may be way to bugged to be repaired though.

My next release will include the zip gun on Lenny and the phaser at the shuttle crash site. I have also added in the corpse stolen by the Hubologists. These are the only 3 items I plan on adding into the game. At some point I will hopefully release a separate package that includes missing maps, etc. (Abbey, EPA, village outside the city)

It's all works! See to Node009a in vicencom.ssl

And another minor nit from me: Tragic addiction does not cause the red 'ADDICT' tab to appear in the corner of the main game screen like all other addictions. However, if you develop another addiction and it wears out it'll cause the text to stay there.

I will have to check this out. Thanks Avega, you always know the answers to these type of things! :D

Hmm.. well pretty much all of the addiction code in hardcoded. The Tragic addiction may be just not implemented all the way. Still, I will take a look and see what I can do. This also goes along with the alcohol addiction that I want to put in, but not sure how. I am not sure how to make an item give you a specific addiction. Again, I believe this is all hardcoded.

Oh, and you mentioned in a post or so up these "sans pictures." What exactly is this?

Just use FIME. Example: Open the beer proto and add the addiction rate value for it. The alcohol addiction is bugged, so that if you drink the beer, you gain Perspection instead of losing it. Also, when I slept during the addiction, the game crashed.

(accidently hitted quote button)

Just checked that the crash happens me always when sleeping in mapper. So, it is not a cause of alcohol addiction.

Sans = without.

edit: I've dug up Sam Pritchard's grave in Golgotha with perception 9 but I can't find the map. The only thing in the grave is a fire gecko pelt. Looking at the open grave I get the description that the throat is slit and there's nothing on the body. Interestingly and perhaps related to this the corpses of fire geckos themselves do not contain pelts in my game.
