I know what you mean, and I don't even engage in those discussions, well the few times that I had one. I just say, oh you liked it? Cool! And move on to the next subject. Honestly I don't even have a problem if Fallout 4 defines Fallout for them. But, it doesn't define Fallout. You know what I mean? Only Fallout 1 can define what Fallout truly is.
Supposing that its got the worst Metacritic User Score and the worst Steam Satisfaction score of any Fallout Game available on PC, I don't think a few people justifying it on Facebook will act as enough justification to continue what they are doing. I'm sure Todd is smart enough to see that a few people playing violin doesn't mean the ship isn't sinking.
and as you can see, they aren't few in numbers (especially if you take other places into consideration). So I don't see how Obsidian would be 'allowed' to scrap FO4's system with THAT many people defending the format.
These are people who thought voiced protagonist and dialogue wheel in a Fallout game was a good idea, and worked on it for 7 years without thinking "wait this is stupid."
They are dumb as shit, and don't know when an idea is a bad idea, but I don't think they actively HATE RPGs and Fallout Fans, they just have no idea what either are.
Its strange that bethesda continues to make RPGs especially considering they're so bad at it. Bethesda games aren't RPGs. I declare them a new genre "open world garbage".
Well for me it's like they thought of every possible fear I had about Fallout 4 being dumbed down casual garbage after seeing how dumbed down Skyrim was, and then they implemented it. So I really do feel like they want to get rid of the entire fanbase for Fallout and replace it with the absolute lowest common denominator of gamers.
If you have a profitable franchise that you don't give a shit about and have basically just hijacked off of the original owners, making shitty games that you know will sell well doesn't seem like too much of a bad idea.
I honestly try to avoid conversation about Fallout with my friends, for this very reason. It's hard to get in to conversations about Fallout IRL for me, because people talk about "Fallout" as though a newer part of the series is overall representative, and then don't quite understand when I try to correct them.
I'd say New Vegas is good enough to be considered up there with the originals. Fallout 4 though? Yea if you absolutely LOVE Fallout 4 more than any other Fallout game then I'm sorry but there's no way you're a Fallout fan. You're a Bethesda fan.

I don't watch their channel so I don't know about them, but would you really want Fallout and Elder Scrolls to be set in the same universe? Because that is apparently what they are trying to promote according to that video.
Haven't seen him do this much as of late. He pretty much defends Bethesda's lore and even endorses it in most of his videos
