So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs

I'm wondering the stats and ages of people.

I've been lifting for less than a year now (started in September 04).
Bench: 155LBS x 6
Deadlift: 225LBS x 5

My regimine:
chest and triceps monday and Thursday
back and biceps tuesday
shoulders and biceps friday
legs and abs wednesday
1 - 1.5 hours cardio each sat and sun

I weight 205/210 - but I'm 30 - 50lbs overweight. I'm adding more cardio to reduce fat, then I'm going to bulk again.

Hah. I had that same regime when i lifted in High school. 2 years ago was the last time i was into lifting. Since then i've kinda just been doing physical labor during the summer. Now that i'm in college i really have limited physical activity. As a result i have lost both muscle and weight. Guess its better than gaining weight eh?

One piece of advice that i remember helped me a lot was to go really slow on the return motion. But you have to be careful when doing this; you should always have a spotter. There has been a couple of times when my muscles just completely gave out when going slow. If it wasn't for my spotter i probably would have lost some teeth. Thanks Scott!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I move my mouse left and right 18 hours a day. Does that count?

P.S. PsychoSniper used to brag about his weightlifting ability. Too bad he isn't here.

I weightlifted a lot up until a few weeks ago, it just got too boring for me. I'm a stick with martial arts for now. I still have my year card at the gym, though, so I occasionally go.

I used to go to the gym twice a week during winter and early spring. Haven't been there in a while, but am planning to go back sometime this week.

I used to bench- press 70kg x 10, and make four series. And an overall workout after that.

I dont take it too seriously or do it so I can be buff and huge, but I do exercise 1 to 1.5 hours every two days. I do two repetitions of lots of different exercises usually doing twenty of each. Lifting a thirty pound weight or using this workout machine my Dad bought, but never uses. I am particularly fond of the exercises for my legs...I find them the easiest to do. I have no idea how to measure the weight I lift with them. The machine is one that you lay down on and you adjust the incline then lift the board you lay on. The more the incline the more effort it takes to lift. I have it at a 45 degree angle (the highest) and I also have four bungee cords attached to it for more resistance.

That was really funny Jebus.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

I like to lift a lot, but I'm taking it easy this summer because I hurt my shoulder. As for my routine, mondays - shoulders, tuesday - back, wednesday, quads, thursday - chest, friday - arms, saturday - calves and hams, lots of different exercises for each musle group. I do abs every day, and end every day with pullups and dips, and then cardio. I'm taking it really easy on bench, so I'm limiting myself to sets of 225. As for sets and reps, I'll usually do 6 sets of 8, end with an infinity drop set at the end. I'm gonna start up a better routine in the fall...should be pretty good. I hope to get my weight up to like 210, straight up muscle. Right now, I weigh 190, so i've got a little ways to go.

Hehe. I guess that's the correct notion of a person who really doesn't want to take lifting seriously. Well however you want to lift you should always remember not to simply stop when you feel you're getting tired. Those are the golden moments. Lift until your muscles stop by themselves. That will bring you results. It's also helpful if you have a gym teacher that is willing to yell in your ear while you lift....I miss high school.

Before I stopped lifting after high school, I was benching 235 ten times and I was squatting about 400 pounds 9 nine times. My power cleans sucked, though.

I lifted a weight once... but i got tired so i had to go lay down and take a 3 hour nap.

Mostly i get my workout's just doing my job, heavy parts, heavy tools, heavy cargo.

Not that i'm lifting anyting larger than a 1 liter bottle of water really right now.

Best way to exercise. I never liked "weight lifting", it seems so pointless, though I suppose teh big Ahnuld muscles are the point...heh...

I prefer work. If not work, swimming, or maybe jogging, but I don't like jogging either and swimming is better anyway. I only pick up weights as a last resort.

Last summer, I combined my 12 hour a day construction job (where my position was "laborer" = all the bitch grunt work) and going to the gym at nights. I thought I'd get really jacked. All I ended up doing was losing weight. I couldn't gain muscle because I didn't fuel enough. I didn't really have time to eat healthy, so all that work was counterproductive. Lesson learned - proper nutrition and rest are key to muscular growth and total body health.

I dunno. I found weight-lifting and exercising a good vent to emo-ish trouble.

Yes, I do bodybuilding. It gives me more energy, a better posture, my body looks good and I feel good. I'm not going to mention how much I bench or whether I exercise my triceps on friday. Bodybuilding is a healthy lifestyle and that's all that matters.
