Baldur's Gate Series

It's not nonsense, Baldur's Gate is boring tripe. A glorified dungeon crawler at best, with terrible combat to boot. And the storyline (and writing in general) is pretty yawn.

BG1 is better than Fo1, but Fo2 is better than BG2.

Torment is overrated.

Just a warning. Well, maybe it's just me.
I always kill that annoying fucker with the rat. You know the one.

Misc is the shit :D A two handed sword wielding maniac with a hamster named boo... whats not to like??

"Go for the eyes boo, GO FOR THE EYES, WAAAAAAAAA!!"

Minsc was pretty cool, I never used him much but he was one of the more useful characters that fit into any party.

I used Korgan(Chaotic Evil): (replaced with Sarevok in Throne of Bhaal)

Keldorn(Lawful Good): Honestly my favorite party member. Hes a beast with the Holy Avenger and his Dispel Magic and True Sight are just ridiculously good.

Edwin(Lawful Evil): My favorite Wizard

Viconia(Neutral Evil): My favorite Cleric and almost tied for Keldorn as my favorite party member. I also like her relationship quest line the best.

Imoen(Neutral Good): I use her for my thief needs and to be honest would not feel right playing through the game without her. During Shadows of Amn she is quite critical to the story.
During the time you do not get to use her I play with Yoshimo for the much needed thief skills. His special bounty hunter traps are pretty wicked as well.

So yeah, my party is pretty screwed up when it comes to alignments and it is funny to watch how they interact. Two of them can have alignment changed via quest but it is not until Throne of Bhaal and usually late in game.

The tricky part is to make sure Keldorn does not slay Viconia for being a Drow. It is random and scripted after a few arguments they have so no matter what she dies. I tested it and even had her packing Crom Fayer with some other ridiculous armor and he completely owned her.

There is a mod that you can download that will turn off party members leaving because of disputes and attacking each other but what fun is that? :P

I enjoyed BG1. it is not a dungeon crawler and also not too linear. Story is quiet nice but the game progresses rather slowly. I enjoy this traits and because of this I didn't like BG2 too much. You start at level 8/9 with a full party, something that you won't enjoy (with no experience in the rule set).
If you have the patience, try the megamods. It will make bg1 look like bg 2, add a lot of content, fix bugs etc..but it is not easy.

This was a new one. Where do you fit Arcanum in this?

Ratty not counting down his favourite games is overrated.

Play them all for consistency.

BG 2 is much better than the first, but I enjoyed them all.

I envy you; I'd love to play those games again for the first time.

Playing Planescape, I'm confused. Suppose the game is meant to make me feel confused though. D:

Bwahahaha!
Don't let it bother you. The game's story is so complex and so weird that even after finishing it and reading all the text you are likely to feel "Huh?".

[spoiler:4f40cebfd7]Being one of the lives of most unpredictable SOB in multiverse is still no1 in my most creative game-stories list after all these years.[/spoiler:4f40cebfd7]

Wait, wait. I just need to ask something.

I've left the Mortuary and What the hell am I meant to be doing.

Not to kill the "Baulder's Gate" discussion, but I just started my first game of PS:T myself and I've been wondering... Is it ok to set IN =18, CH = 15, WIS = 15 and just leave all physical attributes at 9, or am I pushing it now? I won't have serious problems later because of this?

Fine, my top 10 favorite games:

10. Not Baldur's Gate
9. Not Baldur's Gate Either
8. A Game Clearly Superior to Baldur's Gate
7. Destroy All Lizards!
6. Turok the Dinosaur Hunter: Per Add-on
5. Resident Lizard: Code Peronica
4. RapePer
3. Hymen of the Sorcerer II: The Rat, the Lizard and the Anal Probe
2. Perhammer: Shadow of the Horny Rat
1. Perhammer: Dork Hymen

PS: Anyone who 'disses Torment in my presence will die. Srsly.

Pastamasta: At the moment you are trying to find out who or what you are. You are in other words clueless :D
You have tatoos all over you pointing to a few contacts whom you will have to find. Then again you might just check the signposts, bars etc to find some jobs to get some cash. who knows what you may find on the streets of Multiverse's hub.

On more direct hints you might try to find and meet and recruit the gith and the burning man. (Personally I don't like the bunsen burner but your story it is :D)

Bg 1 was small. 7 levels, 30 locations and about 50 NPCs (out of 30+ levels 300+ locations and too many NPCs) . It was just the baby steps if you will.

If my memory is not deceiving me, there is a mod that allows you to play BG1 and TotSC on BG2 engine. I would recommend that if you want to play the saga fully. If you don't you will probably go who is Jahera? who is Khaled ffs at the beginning :D.

"You have not experienced frusturation until you try to play a first level DnD mage. 4(+ up to 4 depending on your con. score) Hp. And a cat can hit you with claw (1 or d2), claw (1 or d2) bite (d3 or d4) killing you in 1 turn :D

The mod is called Tutu.

BG1Tutu is a project which brings the content from Baldur's Gate (or Tales of the Sword Coast) into the Baldur's Gate II engine. This allows BG1 to enjoy all the benefits of BG2 such as higher resolution, new races, classes and kits, dual-wielding, and much more!

It is quite an experience and feels pretty epic playing through all the games in order, like they were meant to be played.
I have not been able to find many games that match the level of fun it offers, at least for me.
