Fallout 2 easily followed by Fallout 1 then New Vegas, and then Fallout 3.

With Fallout 2, the world is vast, lots of interesting characters and locals, great writing, and I loved the story, not to mention the improved gameplay mechanics. The worst thing about the game are the crashes and bugs. I've had to restart the game numerous times -- too many to count, but I still persevered because the game is that damn good. New Vegas kind of felt the same way, really hard to put down, even with the bugs.

I hated the amount of random encounters. Way too many, I spent literally fighting through 6 tough and repetitive encounters on a normally 20 second trip.

To me it is Fo2, FNV, FoT, Fo1 and then It's difficult to choose between F3 and F4... Both are shit but for different reasons.
When it comes to FoT and Fo1 it's more about my enjoyment of them, because I will say that Fo1 is definitely the better game, but I enjoyed FoT more.

I've run into so many random encounters, that pariah dog tho haha. I don't know whether to love him or hate him, the oil rig was funny though -- the enclave soldiers would just drop their weapons and focus on attacking the dog, little do they know...

And then the guy on the bridge, that was funny.

I prefer Fallout 1 as my favorite, while I love Fallout 2 as well the temple of trials was torture and I felt New Reno felt sorta out of place but maybe that's just me and now I'll be lynched for it.

I voted for 1 since it was losing but I could just as easily picked 2, Enjoyed both games when i played them when I was a kid in the 90s, enjoyed replaying them in the 00's and this summer i bought those 2 and tactics on steam during a sale and I enjoyed them in 2015 aswell.

Tactics was good
FO3 had some dumb stuff but I had tons fun with it aswell
F: NV is my 3rd favorite game in the series, one of the best games I've ever played and the only RPG released after 2005 I've managed to actually complete before getting bored
Didn't like F4 but I didn't give it much of a chance, I can probably squeeze some fun out of it when i have some free time

Fallout bos/pos is one of the worst games I've ever played lol, right up there with sniper path of vengeance might and magic 9, and on par with all those shitty movie based games on the 360/ps3

e- read above and alot of people say they had troubles with bugs in the fallouts, idk maybe I'm just lucky but I've never really had a problem with crashes or bugs playing fallout 1 or 2, in all the times I've played through both games I've crashed to desktop maybe 10 times max? Guess im just lucky but then again I never had any bugs playing unpatched arcanum either lol

Tough call for me... I adore FO2... and would probably have chosen to marry it if that were legal, but Vegas was a great modernised take on Fallout and I much much much enjoyed it.

I've also poured many hours in FO:T but I realise that at best it's loose cannon and might never truly fit in as a fallout game.

This is one of those tricksy polls used to out those of lesser taste. I am tempted to pick PoS. :ugly:

This is a close call for me. I have put more hours into Fallout 2 and New Vegas than any of the other games. I love Fallout 1 about as much as New Vegas, but I can't really enjoy Fallout 1 as much anymore since it has less content. Fallout 2 features a lot of useful features that make life easier when compared to Fallout 1. New Vegas also has such a strong modding community, so it has the potential to add lore friendly quests, sometimes done so well it is hard to tell they are mods.

The problem with New Vegas though is a lot of the modding talent is wasted on stupid shit as is the case with Fallout 3, except New Vegas is already a good RPG from the start without mods. I love Tactics from the brief time I have played it, but it isn't my favorite by any means. I'm working on beating it since it is still a solid Fallout game especially with the Redux mod.

In the end I have to choose Fallout 2 since it is the truest to the roots of the series, and the direction Fallout 3/Van Buren would have went. I agree with the FOT2 wishes. That would have added so much interesting lore to the series and the combat would have been great.

There is something called update. There is no need to remove everything and start over every time a new guy shows up.

I don't see the harm in it. If anything the threads could be merged if moderators feel like it.

I have to go with the very first Fallout. I know that FO2 had more stuff but I liked the atmosphere of the first game more.
