Best part of fallout 1 & 2?

Favorite part of FO1 the glow, the most memorable fight was THE deathclaw, Liked the whole three sided politics thing in that region too.

Favourite part of two..... I thought the whole enclave thing was a bit too long.

The fist full of dollars feel in reno was nice though, but I can't quite think of an all out favourite scene in FO2.

Favourite fight was taking out the people holding Vic hostage.

Tactics had good parts...............

My fav part in FO1...wow a toughy, can't think of one specific instance it was all pretty good.

FO2 would have to be gecko. The choices you could make there were awesome, save em or screw em all. I love that computer by the core and if u get the sequence right an Enclave member would pop up and if you chose correctly he'd yell his ass off at you. One of the funniest moments I had in FO2

just the atmosphere as a whole, there was / is no only one aspect that's good, but several that make these games an unique experience.

and I know for damn sure if I started a fallout now I'd be hooked for hours meanwhile any other new SP game is 5 min test -> delete :)

FO1: Reading Richard Grey's diary
FO2: Hard to say, i wouldn't call it 'best part' but i was quite enjoing killing out rest of the Master's army as a hired guard. (after i finished and discovered all possible of course)

Mine was a combination of Fallout one and two (even though it took place in two), and it is: seeing Harold in Gecko! I was just so happy to see a fammilar face again. And, also, Thandi in NCR had much the same feeling.

FO: exploring the glow for the first time, that was just awesome.

FO2: Cafe of Broken dreams, just thought it was pretty cool

FO: Conversation with ze Master

FO2: Dont know really, nothing in this one can compare to the first game. Frank Horrigan is pretty cool though...

FO: Getting to BOS
FO2: Dropping the bomb (or was it dynamite?) to the guy, who is inside a gravetomb, on golghata. I just love the "Hey Lloyd, Catch!"

Landmine to be accurate :)

F01, the ending, how classic it was to get exiled! I mean after all that effort AND with the damn time count down adding pressure, and when you finally succeed.. so long sucker.. amazing.

F02- Well the opening sequence is the ticket for me on F02, Armstrongs singing, together with that retro-50's info-film, again classic, one of the best intro's ive ever seen..

In game my fav part would be Enclave patrols when the guy says :"yeah right, dont tell me your just looking for a water chip" i laughed so hard at that..

LOL. I started a game as a sexy female in Fallout 2 and she was naked. Teehee! That's gotta be my favorite moment.

I'd say for me F1 had the glow. Wondering what had happened and eventually finding out through your own efforts at exploration was the best example of storytelling and gameplay being one and the same.

As for Fallout 2...probably New Reno. The whole "choose a warlord/gang affiliation then kill our competitors/avoid there area of town aura felt great.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

In Fallout 1, I have always liked Necropolis and Glow; especially the second one (the way how it was mysteriously hyped by BoS was simply impressive). I have probably a soft spot for dead places, strange...
The other memorable places / moments - Junktown, V15, Master and Overseer´s assholism at the end.

In Fallout 2, I basically like all places from Arroyo to Gecko and Vault City, including Redding. I have also always loved chatting with Marcus and Harold. It is a pity that FO2 finish looks so incomplete...

*raises fist in playful anger at Brother None, after writing a well thought-out reply in a thread vatted mid-post*.

Nutshelled...

FO1... the fact it's PA, how much it resembles Wasteland, blackmailing Bob, Killian vs Gizmo, min/max stat effects (especially luck, charisma, and intelligence), Harold, dealing with Decker, the combat, and the storytelling.

FO2... more of FO1's greatness expanded upon, Brahmin tipping, Torr, pushing people out of the way, Sulik's quips (especially "We be like ugly on... you"), Harold and Bob, and NCR.

the military base in fallout 2... how you pretend to be a recruit and all. everytime i hear the sargents voice i shit my pants in laughter. its my favorite level in maybe all of the games i played.

in fallout 1 ummm the big hole? it was like so mysterious and the first time i played the game i thought only 1 bomb exploded and that was where it was. so it was kinda cool.

For me it was moment in F2 when in Gecko power plant you irritated the hell out of an Enclave officer. Thanks to Chris Parks, we finally got an epilogue

My weird attachment to keeping Dogmeat alive. He actually got the last bite on Frank for me the first time through. Probably because the first time I played F1 I ended up as the most evil character and that dog was my only friend.

I guess... the greatest achiement I did in Fallout would be keeping Ian alive... almost every round of Fallout I play, Ian will be dead. Mainly by my hands(DAMN IT IAN, AT THE BACK? AGAIN??!!).

The greatest achievement in Fallout 2 will be slaughtering every single Enclave troops in the Oild Rig and at Navaro.

The best thing in Fallout for me would be the Killian/Gizmo quest, and the many little quests in the Hub.

In Fallout2, would be the part where I talk to the irate Enclave trooper in Gecko, or talking the Mayor of Modoc to cut off his little pinky and then you stop him in the end.

Don’t remember so much from Fallout 1, but I remember that I liked the glow.

Though I did play Fallout 2 recently, and I most say that playing as a stupid character (I had 3 in intelligence) was the best part of the game by far. But it was also very sad how everyone treated my stupid character badly when all he wanted was to make everyone happy.

Anyway, it’s very recommended that everyone try Fallout 2 with a stupid character.
