Ay I may be a console peasant but I recognize Bullshit when I see it. I see what Beth is doing/has done. Don't be a jerk @Black Angel.
I apologize, didn't mean to and didn't have an intention to be. It's just what I saw so far. Discussion on other places, like Youtube, and hell some of the Bethdrones who came to this site days/months ago, by stating they prefer Bethesda's 'polished content' rather than mods.Ay I may be a console peasant but I recognize Bullshit when I see it. Im gonna guess by the tone of your statement you are a PS4 user...Well I can say you really arent missing much with mods not being available to you.Oh boy did they royally fuck up the DLC for this game. I actually like Fallout 4 (as a casual FPS set in the Fallout 'verse, kind of like how Halo Wars was an RTS set in the Halo 'verse), and Bethesda's constant screw ups have killed off my interest in this game to the point where I haven't touched it in months, and only played it recently to show a friend of mine the cool bunker I built on Far Harbor. Way too much pandering to the settlement gimmick which was supposed to be optional (4 out of the 6 fucking DLCs!!!!) and not enough actual story-based content like Far Harbor. To think I waited 7 fucking years for this game to come out.
Don't even get me started on the train wreck that is PS4 mods. From what I've heard and read, PS4 users probably won't be getting mods until Skyrim: Ultimate Edition comes out in November. How awesome is that? Having to wait months for another game to come out just to get mods for a game you bought almost a year ago. Meanwhile people on Xbox are already using the feature. Fucking wonderful. At this point they might as well just scrap PS4 mods for this game all together. It's gotten to the point where nobody even cares anymore.
I have to say I'm becoming increasingly disappointed with Bethesda's handling of this series, and this is saying A LOT coming from someone who actually likes their games.
Let me guess, the "pretty well done locations mod" is Beantown Interiors by Chucksteel?Im gonna guess by the tone of your statement you are a PS4 user...Well I can say you really arent missing much with mods not being available to you.
I guilty fired up this POS yesterday after 4 months (I fucking hate FO4) and the mods available to console, outside of one pretty well done locations mod and 2 gun mods, is mostly fat asses and big titties mods. Its cool if that is what you are looking for, but it really doesnt add much.
So unless you just wanted some cosmetic shit you arent missing anything. No quests no lore none of that...but you can dress like batman and have dogmeat become a husky....yay?
Chucksteel on TTW Forums said:I was told the other day that all my custom clutter in DC Interiors, (such as the magazines) BROKE IMMERSION because they were not in vanilla!
All I could say was WTF?
He can run Creation Kit? Wizard. On a different note I was talking to him today and we were laughing about him saying this on the TTW forum:
He is a genius! He is one of the two TTW founders and if that wasn't enough his Interiors Mods (For FO3, FNV, TTW and now FO4) offer new hand made interiors and new items in a scale bigger than some DLCs (and bigger than all of FO4 DLCs but that is not hard). He can run Creation Kit? Wizard.
I mean, CK64 is utter laggy garbage as just a piece of software, even doing interiors is a miracle. Just, how?He is a genius! Because like you said he is a genius did I mentioned that not only the CK has those problems but it doesn't work on apple's Macs? And he still manages to use it on a Mac too .I mean, CK64 is utter laggy garbage as just a piece of software, even doing interiors is a miracle. Just, how?
The real beauty for me is how the main game focuses wholly on the NCR/Legion conflict and the dam stuff, then the DLC runs outside of that and has a more personal story focused on the Courier, and they're tied together in such an amazing way (especially Christine and Ulysses and all the little hints and clues through the DLCs). Love how they kept them attached to the main game, but the story for each was self-contained while also having a character arc for your own avatar, one in which you can pretty much slot any character you make (because apart from a few details like the package in Lonesome Road, you're not railroaded like Bethesda's godawful player avatars with all their pointless backstory). If you're including New Vegas, I'd beg to differ. Vanilla New Vegas felt so complete and so satisfying, I personally found myself beg for more. Back then, I made the mistake of only buying FO3 GOTY Edition, but not noticing that the New Vegas I bought was actually vanilla only and not the Ultimate Edition. Because of that, I have to buy all of the DLCs for NV. Vanilla New Vegas, at that time, felt so different and so..satisfying. Though, I guess I had the luxury of playing the game ~5 years after it was out, so I didn't experience bugs and glitches, so one thing that helped me play through New Vegas was the fact that it was much more stable than FO3 (which crashed like every 5-10 minutes, even with mods) and it really only crash once in a while. After finishing New Vegas for the first time, I reloaded a save and, knowing there were DLCs for the game, I bought them all simply because I didn't felt I missed something, but because I really, really wanted more.
Yep that is the one. It seems my comment (at 330 am here) came off as a bit snobbish when I went back and read it. Wasnt my intention. I have used chucks stuff in FONV and its really quite good. Didnt know it was his because the in game mod page is a fuckin disaster.Let me guess, the "pretty well done locations mod" is Beantown Interiors by Chucksteel?

The whole situation is shit.
1) a reason for everyone wanting to kill you, and 2) being able to kill everyone you meet with no essential tags? Yeah, I'd be up for that. First stop: Diamond City Rampage."Fallout: Dust"-type mod, which, as a fan of the original, would have rekindled my interest in FO4.

Yeah, I've seen the original, not my thing. Largely because NV has a well-designed world I enjoy spending time in. Fallout 4 I just want to kill everyone because the world is so stupid.Well, if you played the first one, then odds are Diamond City is definitely gonna be filled with almost-unkillable enemies, and probably no unique NPCs.

I was more directing you toward the weekly updates this guy does, on how far he is through making the mod. He is a gosh darn powerhouse, if I say so myself. Also, it's pretty clear he wants to fix most of the things Bethesda did wrong in the game.Yeah, I've seen the original, not my thing. He really shouldn't do that, though. I mean, if he do that for his own personal consumption, then it's okay. But if he release his 'fix Bethesda's mistake mod' to the public, people will buy the game for that mod, but Bethesda would still get all the money for doing practically nothing. Also, it's pretty clear he wants to fix most of the things Bethesda did wrong in the game.
