BioShock reviews

The Softpedia one is already removed, by the looks of it.

What's with the bull-rush? Just wait until the official mirrors go up and just leave it at that. I'm not posting it before that and I don't really understand this badly managed chaos.

i think this can be considered Warez, Killzig. tread carefully.

Please note: it seems like AA is not working. This could be why they were waiting for the new drivers from ATI/nVidia to release the thing into the wild.
ATI & Nvidia are set to release new drivers today.

(which is likely why the official versions cant be downloaded before tomorrowmorning)

Though that's just the demo. You can't slap mines on to security bots to make them suicide bombers or telekinesis throw things or cyclone trap and so on and so forth yet. I figure once you get more toys to play with the environment it'll ramp up the fun.

Plus I doubt electrobolt and wrench will work great through the entire game, though the reviews have been saying that if you upgrade all the melee tonics you can get really nasty with the wrench, so maybe.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that for all the hype about how revolutionary the game is - it's really just a well done FPS. Slapping mines onto security bots is the same as chucking a grenade or heat seeking missile, etc. These are mostly game mechanics that have been done before - it's just that instead of being in gun form they're a bit more creative.

I'll eventually play the full game to know for sure, but what usually happens with these games is that there will be a handful of very effective combinations or weapons and all those choices aren't worth the effort.

I like the idea of being able to set up trip wires, place traps on the ceilings, force your enemies to fight for you...

the official forum is only deleting links to torrents (guilty by association) at this point and asking the folks that download and play to please give the game another shot once they've installed the new drivers. I t

I really wonder why Bioshock scored so high. I mean, from the videos I've seen, it kinda looks a bit like You Are Empty in the gameplay, the firefights doesn't look fun or action packed at all.
Their artwork is cool, but that shouldn't make a game score top marks all over.

I agree here - the thing that put me off from Bioshock as a game is that it's firefight seem to be stuck at the level of Doom/Quake/Quake II instead of using a more realistic/immersive/fun model like that from Soldier of Fortune for example.
