    Hello all,

Due to Black Friday in the US (I don't think there is a European version of that) both Steam and GOG have a lot of sales on various titles.
I am curious to know what games people are considering now that the prices on some they have put on their wishlist have lowered to make it possible to buy multiple ones cheap.

I myself, well I am thinking of buying up a number of Interplay titles, Microprose ones, and Lucasarts on GOG to sort of complete my collection on these publishers, but I am a bit hesitant to spend money on titles that I will probably never play again so I am also looking through the new releases at Steam to see if there is anything there that catches my eye.
I am in particular interested in games such as Half Life and Jedi Knight though I also live action adventure games, Metroidvania titles, and the occasional RPG (as long as it is not fantasy themed).
Indie titles with unique gameplay can be interesting but I don't care for titles that are more artsy than game or are Nintendo hard.

So if people here have recommendations I gladly hear them.

I would add that humble bundle is also having a sale.

I finally got around getting VTM: Bloodlines since it was 78% off.
Other recommended games on sale are Stellaris, and Fallout 1+2 if anyone here somehow hasn't played those.

    Bought:
Divinity Original Sin 2, Got all the games but only played original sins 1. Not sure if i should play this or the older titles first.
Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles Complete Edition, Resident evil vibes galore! Even more so than Obscure had, Sady Obscure 2 had so horrible controlls i could not be arsed.

Edit: Refunded Outbreak. I know it is a lowbudget RE game but it was way worse than expected, Not a bad game but not my kind of game.

Divinity is obviously great for the small ammount i played :)

I've got the Valve games pack (was 90% off + price reduction from the games I already got).
Not a bad deal I think.

Yes quite a lot of games in that pack are still worth playing today.
Does remind me though how far Valve has strayed away from its origins. I wonder if eventually another company will replace it as developer of FPS games that are beloved by FPS fans of various generations.

I got Vampyr, but it's a let down really. I'm put off by how "console-y" it is, but what irritates me most is how the dialogue (+ setting & story) lacks internal consistency.

Each of these examples are in themselves not that big of a problem, but the game is so full of it:
    • You find hints of Ascalon and piece together what they are. You then meet the executioner from Ascalon and suddenly you act like you think Ascalon is a person? Really? I have a letter in my inventory clearly saying otherwise.
    • You talk to Edgar. He's afraid the Guard of Priwen will attack, but one dialogue choice later he assures you that the Guard of Priwen would never attack the hospital as long as he is in charge.

Part of the problem is also that the dialogue choices are dumbed down & abbreviated when you chose them. You have to guess what the devs meant rather than read what they meant.

I mean, a game like V:tM-B had huge (mostly technical) flaws, but it was executed with marvelous dialogue and had internal consistency in its world crafting. How can you spend so much time/money/effort developing a game, yet not pay attention to your story, background and dialogue? It seems to be a recurring theme even with AAA+ games.

    So frustrating...

    Oldest first.
