[Black Steel] BSM progress

Maybe its depend to game version. For me its mostly work. I must ask fev peoples how its work on thier machines. Probably after finished i will spend many time for fix all bugs. Olways when i made new progress i test it, so mostly everything should work.
 
Well, the version of Fallout 2 I have is the already pre-patched version. Even when I disable the patch I still see 1.02 on the screen. Other mods work, I just believe I missed your initial downloads, because I don't have the Fallout Manual in my inventory either nor the car.

So I am missing your earlier add-ons.
 
Manual is not implement to new version because i changed Arryo Village. Before it open and you may skip temple. Now temple and village are connected. Every new mod is based upon before version, so its just new add-ons (it grown larger every time, extended by new elements)

If you dont want car:
go to data/art/scenery/ and remove carspec1.frm file
and data/art/items/ remove cartrunk.frm file

For car i just change these graphisc so if you delete it: old car will appear

About news:
-did i mention about new money graphic?
-VD suit: you start game as villager. Elder teaches you how use pip-boy. So you wear VD suit like typical armour and then change appearance. All arryo location look different now.
 
New random encounters table, from outdoorsmans you can:
-buy food (it heal hit points, radiation and poison)
-learn new skills (like geologist, now vault5 HG quest is changed)
-buy locations maps (to get into abandoned city you must now buy map, blue cat's paw is changed)
-learn lot about survival (its real knowledge)
-made here some quests, but they will be available when got required skills about: traps, repair, first aid

And world is empty: that makes you cant get experience and equipment from random fights, so game is more dificulty.
 
1v55 is almost last version

When you bring GECK to Arroyo it will ..change into another city !

V13 is marked on worldmap from begining so its easy get here, also you can cheat- take book from Klamath mailbox.

So i made alternate game begining, change many things during game and alternate ending. It can be say that its full from A to Z mod. But probably i wil put here fev new things.

-New outdoorsman script and +50 new messages about survival
-To get into vault5 now you need buy "secret location map"
 
1v57
-you can buy new "secret location map" from outdoorsmans, dont panic its cost only 1$ (because not finished yet) It was designed to put here many items from other mods, that you can buy here (market), also some introduce about these mods to popularise them (im merchant dialogues) Already i check some items from Wasteland Merc2, New Vision, Fallout forever, L.I.M.O.N (probably best ones), also tryed Survivor (but i cant download it) NPC you meet on market got messages taken from NMA forum. Its "tribute to modding area".

If you got some items, and want put it into game, (also your character npc)- send me PM or write here about it. It will be place where every F2 mods and modders meet.

This location will be more like special encounter, or secret area, not standard game location. It may appear when you finish game.


From other ideas:
-i must made more quests and money source, maybe solve it by place some jobs? So you can work as scients, mercenary, doctor- that means you will take many, many quests which need that skill and you will take money for solve it. Just something like: I need scients worker with qualify 50(%) and you can hire yourself to earn money and exp. Random encounters was removed so now is not easy become experienced and rich.

-new location: Arena, already empty place but here will be some alternate boxing, to enter here buy map from outdoorsman (only 1$)
 
No i will remade all randoms to new areas. And maybe made one location where put everything from old "special random encounters"
Maybe it was funny but sometime too empty. Anyway in my new locations will be something interesting too.

1v59
Some progress on Arena, you can fight first battle here. Already i must develop script which will place random fighter, who wield random weapon. And "battle counter" so you will get "gladiator" after hundread battles. This will be long game, better than boxing. Anyway that kind of area is like "game inside game" i like that concept very much.
 
invisible car

ok all you can see on the 1.59 of the modversion of the car is the trunk when you buy the car after geting the nessesaryt parts that disapears too. ok so i got rid of the files of the new car like the guy said above about if you wana get the old car but then all you see is the old trunk and the same thing happens when you buy it from the repair guy. am i missing something? is there some new place the car appears or something? anyway its frustrating not having a car. so i hope someone knows a solution to this

For me car work ok, i got eng version and play without patch.

Also you get Gladiator karma, when win some combat.

I had the same problem as he did with the car. It was without the patch000.dat since I could not get the mod to work without removing it.

yeah i removed the pach 00 thingie as i read before i installed the patch that it would cause problems
and the car still not there i havent tried the latest patch though so ill try that one and get backto you all about it
 
I must connect this mod to official patch (so files placed not in "data" folder but as add-ons to patch000.dat) Problems should be fixed. Its two ways to modding- change data folder or patch file, both override game files. In second method should be also fixed some bugs exist in game: so its better to play that version. First method may cause problems but its quick and most easy to made.
I prefer first method- data folder, because many updates need quick modding.

News 1v63
Now library in Vault 5 area contain twenty books. Its clever thing- just one item with one script that work like many books. I think its breaktrought invention to game: you can place one item in many places, every item clone will got random attributes (here for example: different book content and title)
 
I remind that game versions mean mod percentage progress.

News 1v64 (64%)
-Market area concept has ben changed, now its location visible from game begining (near Klamatch) where you can buy many rare items exists in original game (like alien blaster, stealthboy) and some new ones.
 
New style (project site and mod itself)
Now every location will be like small independent mod, contain some amount of items, quests, secrets, new skills. I will not spoil everything like before- you must find it yourself, or read solution.
