Boy, 8, fatally shoots self with Uzi at gun show

I'm astounded how people who have experience with firearms make the "little gun little recoil" assumption. Then again most are men who can't feel the difference anymore and others who don't understand how physics applies to stuff outside the classroom.

I've let my nephews 9 and 10 year olds fire my guns before. But they were my 22 and my heavy sks. The thought of handing any child a lightweight autoloading weapon, automatic or semiautomatic....

sum up. FUCKING MORON.

Welsh, there is no regulation for stupidity. No regulation for not checking behind your vehicle, no regulation for leaving matches accessible, no regulation for handing a lightweight automatic firearm to someone who couldn't put their whole hand around it.

At best criminal negligence.
 
A shame Charlton Heston passed away, otherwise the good people of Westfield could expect a nice NRA gathering the next day. Or maybe they still do that to honor his beautiful spirit. :puke:

I sometimes wish people could be sent to jail for being stupid. Some people (celebrities in particular) deserve it.

Back to point, who the fuck would give an 8 year old a loaded automatic? I'm all for the second amendment and everything, but for earth's sake! How can someone be this lacking in common sense. The perpetrator should spend a long time in a federal institution for causing the death of a child. Ignorance like this ceases to astound me, and I grew up in YEHAW bigot-ville USA. At least ignorant racists don't hand their loaded weapons to children.
 
When I was that age all I really was allowed to shoot was my 22 rifle. Once under close supervision and assistance I got to shoot cans with my grandfathers 45.

It was not until I was 15 I got to shoot my first automatic and it was an original (self converted? iirc) Ak-47 that a friend from schools dad owned. They would even go turkey hunting with that baby, bless the south :lol:


Anyways sad story and I hate to read stuff like this, it gives the liberal left hippies fuel for the fire.
 
I live like 5 miles from this town. Didn't think anyone outside of West. Ma had hear about it. After all, few people outside of West. Ma have heard of West. Ma.

I'm 23 and I've never even seen a real gun in my entire life, except for my dad's handgun (he was a cop) - and he never let me get within ten feet of it (he kept it in his holster all the time anyway).

I don't even know anyone who owns a BB gun.
 
I own a pellet gun, and the only real guns I ever see are cops' sidearms, occasionally but very rarely soldiers' assault rifles.

Who the fuck would give an 8 year old a gun? I guess you join the ranks of SS fanatics and African cannibalistic rebels if you do that.

Seriously though, guns are too prevalent in america, well, at least unneeded guns are, you don't need a fucking assault rifle or a 50. caliber weapon, I think the most you'd need is a shotgun or a handgun, not some damn handcannon, it doesn't make your dick bigger, it doesn't make you some kind of bigger man.

We do not own them because we think it makes our dick bigger or some kind of bigger man. We own them because we can.

The day the government tells me I cannot go outside and shoot at squirrels in the woods with a semi automatic rifle is the day I lose faith in this country.

Not that I do that much anymore anways, ammo for the M1 is fucking expensive as I have to special order it to get it here. =/

Still point still stands owning high powered weapons normally reserved in other countries for law enforcement/military is just a part of American culture and one I can promise you we will NEVER let die :).


edit: also to an extent the bigger man comment might work for some. If someone was pointing an assault rifle at you would you have the balls to tell him he was not a "bigger" man? I for one would be flattering the hell out of him :P

How is it "penis enlargement" exactly? Going out to the range and shooting an automatic rifle is fun. Getting up Saturday and spending a couple hours in a field taking shots at cans with your friends or grandfather is fun.

Guns are apart of American culture and some of us just find the powerful ones for lack of better saying really damn cool. I do not exactly see how this is a bad thing at all, we are not breaking any laws and just enjoying our second amendment rights :).

Basically what you are saying is because we do not "need" it and it is a luxury it is "penis enlargement"? The car argument is weak as well, if someone has acquired the wealth to drive a nice expensive car how is that showing off anything other than his wallet?

I can understand how some people can look at it and not be able to make sense of it all. For me however it is just natural.

I grew up around guns and I love tinkering/learning about them of all shapes and sizes. It is something I suppose you would just have to be brought up in to understand. In Highschool my third year of JROTC we took pellet rifles out on the field and they taught us different firing positions and about breath control. This was all during school hours as well. :P
It has been a while but iirc the reason we did that according to Sgt Major was "shooting is a skill everyone should learn".

Anyways yeah sorry for the wall of text but I really do not know how to properly illustrate how important guns are to American culture.

spoiler 1: most hunting rifles are far more powerful than "fucking assault rifles".

spoiler 2: a semi-automatic AR15/M16/M4 is not an "assault rifle". it's a sporting rifle.

spoiler 3: most small caliber handguns are actually more dangerous than the ridiculously big ones.

spoiler 4: a .50 caliber rifle has in the history of the USA never been used in ANY violent crime.
