Comrade you are missing the point. Do you really need materialistic gifts in order to become fulfilled.

Try focusing on the person that is closest to you (wife?) and find a way to express your gratitude and your love to her.

It doesn't have to be expensive nor shiny as long as it comes with good intentions.

Our house is 50 fucking degrees right now because we have one tiny electric heater heating it up. You don't know what the hell you are talking about. I am far from needing useless gifts. I have essential needs that aren't being met. Our Christmas dinner consisted of chicken strips, and some cheese sticks from a goddamn gas station. You think I want a fucking shiny new toy to play with? Sorry if I gave that impression but no. We NEED things. Doesn't matter anyway because we won't get them unless we can afford them, but, you get my point. Merry fucking Christmas. I suppose I should be thankful I have a roof over my head, even if it is caving in from water damage... Well, I do have those two beers left over....

Edit: Sorry my inner Hulk came out. I'm just in a bad mood. My bad.

TNT cancelled leverage and aired the last episode today.

what a middle finger to the fans imo.

I can't respond to that. Right now my words mean jack shit to you.

I wish you well my friend because you deserve better.

yea, one of the few non sci fi and fantasy show that i enjoy, and they canceled it. ending was kinda meh but acceptable. but really if they had done one more episode at minimum.

oh well.

Love Christmas time and I'm not even christian. It's one of the more distinct holidays with a whole junk of its' own stuff. And can you imagine winter without it? Depressing as fuck.

Me and a pal discussed this not too long ago - northern hemisphere, during winter, in a past age with no electricity. How dark, how isolated and lonely winter time would be. For many it would be a matter of simply holding out untill spring. Even in this modern society, "winter depression" statistics are high. The whole point of the old "winter solistice" is even just that - it's a "hang-in-there" to everyone, let's gorge and feast, and be together - a break in the isolation. Let's light every candle in abundance, tomorrow we will blow them all out again!
A little "pick me up", while winter slowly, slowly begins to fade into spring.
