Community campaign to push Bethesda into letting Obsidian do a Fallout spin-off

Just let Brian Fargo/InXile and Chris Avellone/Obsidian do one everyone would make money and everybody wins.

Let's all laugh and an industry that never learns anything tee hee hee.

As off June Chris Avellone is not working at Obsidian. But Tim Cain is. If not the original creator then who else would suit best to make the next Fallout?

i honestly believe that obsidian has already been working on the new fallout and just keeping it under wraps like they did with fallout 4 and new vegas. Todd Howard knows how much money there is to be made by letting obsidian do a spin off, they would be more than willing to do it.

Obsidian is too busy with Pillars of Eternity to care about anything related to a Fallout spin-off

It probably doesn't mean much, but I know someone who messaged Tim Cain regarding whether Obsidian would get to make another Fallout, and Tim's response was that he couldn't talk about that. So his silence on the subject could be because of an NDA.

How recent was that?

It was 13 days ago, and the person asked Tim on Facebook.

Obsidian could go their own route with the mechanics. They did so with New Vegas by bringing back traits, allowing a perk every two levels, switching to a DT-based damage system, and bringing back ammo types. I know switching from Fallout 4's character system and voiced PC would be a more extreme change, but if Bethesda acknowledges the two developers want to have separate approaches to the mechanics in their games, then I could see them giving Obsidian permission to do what they want.

Possibly, I really do hope so.

I really hope but I have a feeling Beth will be restrictive, wanting a simple formulaic piece that will sell but not overshadow or belittle 4.

Possibly, I really do hope so.
I hope but I think Beth will be restrictive, wanting a simple formulaic piece that wont overshadow or belittle 4

Maybe... Bethesda is real strict with their spin offs.
