Community campaign to push Bethesda into letting Obsidian do a Fallout spin-off

Even Bethesda made the 2D Fallout Shelter. Why stop there? Make more 2D Fallouts!!

And that's when you realise that Bethesda aren't nice people. Apparently for matters of pride they refuse to outsource their preciously bought IP to any other developer. They could easily make their stupid theme park Fallout and a more intelligent RPG isometric Fallout side by side. But they'll never do that. It's their toy to play with. Nobody can have it.

Except that time when they let Obsidian make New Vegas, technically meaning that "they'll never do that" is not possible at this point, since it happened.

Well, they did specify that New Vegas had to use the Fallout 3 engine, and they vetoed Obsidian on some things like "dropping the Karma mechanic entirely" and "hiding reputations." But if someone can make a good game with the Fallout 3 engine, those same people can make a good game with the Fallout 4 engine too.

Hiding reputation would be a stupid thing to do. Where was that veto-thing said anyway, never heard of it before.

Sorry guys, but chances are pretty slim Obsidian will ever pick up Fallout again. Though, it would be admittedly better with Chris "Nuke the lore, it makes me sore" Avellone.

I don't think I trust anyone at the moment with Fallout. If anything, it should go to public domain and just have the content be made by fans. These things seem to just get shit on worse and worse by modern developers. God forbid Bethesda drops the IP and it gets scooped up by Treyarch or EA.

Maybe not hiding, but not having it trown in your face every timer your reputation drop/increase/change status would be great.
If i want to know if my actions had an effect on my reputation, i would check my reputation myself.

Unless anyone of you guys actually checked at Obsidian whether they are willing to create another Fallout, I can't see any point in lobbying for that. Just saying'

Someone at Obsidian said some time ago that if they were offered a chance to make one, they would definitely be interested. So they are willing, it's probably up to Bethesda if it's gonna happen.

That petition is almost certainly without any real point, but two clicks is something everyone here can afford, I believe. Signed.
Besides, it would be nice to see how many people are actually for it, in the end.

Guys ... all this talk about Spin-Offs.

Fallout New Vegas was NO Spin-Off :puppy-dog: !

It is the closest of a Sequel to Fallout 1 and 2 that was ever released.

Fallout 3 is actually the Spin-Off!
