Completed everything, what do I do now?

Why? You are getting entertainment and a good experience? Why get a reward for doing something like playing a game? you are not doing anything incredible, your are not helping anybody doing it. Everyone just wants a cookie for everything, like little puppies.

People like rewards, people like boasting rights, people like to achieve goals, simple as.

No-one is making you get the achievements are they? Obviously not so what is your problem? Countless people love achievements, love being able to say with evidence "I did this", if you do not like it simply don't bother trying to get them and leave those who enjoy them, well, enjoy them.

I just find it stupid that someone would just refuse to experience something because it doesn't give them a shinning coin at the end.

Man! This game just gave me hours of entertainment! I beat it on the special difficulty and everything, where's my special prize!?!?!!?!

People may enjoy something and also enjoy the reward they get for doing it.

People may do something they would have otherwise not have done and possibly enjoyed it in the process of trying to get an achievement.

People may also enjoy being able to prove they did something difficult.

I see no downside to achievements, they do not hinder the people who do not care for them at all.

I didn't say anythign abotu achivements being bad, I said I fidn stupid people neglecting an experience because it doesn't give them a reward for everything.

Well, if anything this stupid little puppy is irritated that they promised me a treat and didn't deliver :) I don't knock anyone about the achievements, It's just personal preference that I don't really care about them.

And again, I didn't say anything about not enjoying the game or even hardcore mode. More words surgically grafted on to my tongue....you guys must be Big Empty scientists :) I have enjoyed the game for 200 plus hours and will probably put in another 200 when it's all said and done.

When Fallout online comes out we should all definitely get out and purge the wasteland of raiders and what not. I'll bring the cookies[/youtube]

I found out that the sPecial "reward" for completing the game with it was another (basically) worthless achievement. I switched it off and haven't played it since I found that out, as I did not feel it was worth the headaches that came with it.
There, I didn't put words in anyone's mouth, you said you didn't go through Hardcore mode because you weren't getting a reward for playing the game, and I said it is completely stupid, pretty simple.

Fair enough Walp, but what irritated me is that I was PROMISED a special reward and they didn't follow through. Everyone gets the achievements if they do the work. The game itself is why I play it...nit cookies, rewards or whatever. I love the Fallout series and you two calling me stupid or telling me I'm playing it wrong is a little ridiculous.

I played the game without the headaches first knowing I'd go back and try hardcore later.

in short, if you're playing a game because you expect a reward, you're doing it wrong.

I think those who play games JUST for an achievement are in the very small minority.

Anyone who has a Naruto or Avatar game in their list bought it solely for achievements, or is five years old.

I've achievement hunted ins ome games, though only on games I already own. Though this is less "going out of my way for cheevos" as it is "getting a bunch in a row because I know what I'm doing. And the bleep bloop makes doing whatever it is, esepcially if it's difficult, all that more satisfying. Like an automatic high five, and the game itself saying "Well done."
