depressing moments in Fallout games?

BOS_Warlord

First time out of the vault
I never played 1 or 2, but in The Pitt, I felt bad for that one guy whose brother got turned into a trog. and then when you kill him he just sits there crying. I truly hated the Pitt and Ashur, I took great pride in blowing his and his wifes brains out.

Finishing Fallout 1 as a full on good guy . . . with the Bloody Mess perk.

"You march into the desert sands, leaving the shattered corpse of the Overseer behind you, never to return to the Vault."

Entering the Cathedral, with all the companions and emerging victorious, yet alone.

I've never managed to save any of them. I think Ian survived once, though...

I do wanna play 1 and 2, but iunno. It reminds me of diablo (how it looks) and I did not care for Diablo...waiting to be flamed. Plus, my computer is a hunk of shit right now so it will have to wait. I kinda gather what went on in the other games from playing NV, 3 didnt seem to carry over alot from the other 2

How old are you? If I might ask...if you grew up on the games from the last 7 or 8 years, then maybe Fallout 1 and 2 will be a slightly frustrating experience. My comparison would be - if you grew up on reading comics, and someone suggested you read "War and Peace", your initial experience might be a uncomfortable one, but by the end of the story you will be glad you did it, Fallout 1 and 2 are like that...push through the initial clunkiness, you won't regret it. The more you play it, the more you'll appreciate the minds behind it. It's not a surprise that some of these guys are some of the most talented people who ever made a computer game, and many of these people said Fallout was the best and most satisfying game they ever worked on. 8-)

Im 20 years old, but I grew up on console gaming. Snes, Sega, N64 etc. I am an avid old school gamer but I really love the Fallout world and stuff. The only pc games I really played were Half Life, Fallout 3 initially I played on PC and like Warcraft 3

Can we trade brains so I can experience Fallout 1 and 2 for the first time again?
I get so jealous when I hear people havent played them but are planning to. YOU WILL GET SUCKED IN! You really owe it to yourself to play the fuck out of these games.

Been playing Fallout 1 again, asked Ian to leave the party in the Boneyard to trade up for Katja, left to The Glow and stopped by on the way back. Ian was still there and asks, "Is there anything I can do for you before I get going?" Had to feel it for the poor guy.

Take the time if you can, sounds like you'd dig it. You don't need much of a PC either; the first Fallout was developed fifteen years ago.

In Hindsight, the Intro and the Outro was the most depressing thing for me. Also, on my first playthrough seeing a random encounter "You see the remains of an old battlefield", or the travelling folk singer.

true, but this PC is on its last legs, so rather than start it up, have the computer DIE completely and lose my file and get pissed off. Il wait it out a couple of months. Besides im still on my first successful NV play through with DLC and all.

strange question, but here goes my best shot

FO1, the ending.
FO2, have to agree with pixote. sometimes, ill deliberately put my followers in danger, fuck'em, but sulik, i like him. im the load-when-fuck-up-kinda guy, but whenever sulik dies, and im too far from a previous load spot, i do get kinda sad.

sometimes i even do little "rituals", like i place a few bottlecaps on his body or something. good night sweet prince - and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest :'O

FO3, idunno..

I do something similar. I cheat in a few extra pairs of shades, so the whole party is wearin em. Also they keep any money they pick up. (with the NPC loot bodies mod)

HAHAHA ive done the same :D
with the RP, i can get a whole crew up, like me, sulik and cassidy, all dressed up in our decorated power armors, each w their pair of shades, sometimes ill throw in a "lucky coin" for them each, maybe a watch :D
i had myron carrying all my weed, but i had to take it away from him cus he was rolling up. true story.

in fact, i was entering battle, and you know how npc's sometimes do drugs in time for battle.
the log litterally said "Myron does drugs" (or something to that near effect), and i just cracked up thinking dude, this is the _worst_ time to start rolling up a fattie, we're about to get into some serious shit here!

I have the Grave Digger mod always on for New Vegas, I can dig up graves for every single dead NPC.
So in my Iron Man Run I had 4 little graves for Veronica, Cass and Rex.
