Deus Ex 3 info

I wouldn't call Call of Duty 4 an ultra dumbed down game. It's the best action game to have come out in a long time.

CoD4 has some great moments but I never felt like playing it again - And I only needed approx 2 days to finish it. So I spend 50 bucks for 2 days and it seems like I will never play it again.

Sometimes I wish, the industry would crash and restart again.

At least there are still augmentations to improve your body, they say 20.

Apparently Spector gave his blessing to the story.

And there's an update to the article:

UPDATE: A slight clarification for those fearing that DX3 is straying from its roleplay roots - Eidos Montreal have confirmed, as is detailed in PC Zone issue 200, that you'll still garner experience points as you progress through the game. You'll then either choose to plug them into your self through your augmentations or your weaponry. Apologies for any confusion.

It sounds more like a spin-off...

Anyway, here's the teaser trailer, in case you haven't seen it, and it comes complete with an analysis of the quick slideshow of the images shown in it:

CoD 4 is CoD 2 with more shiny, much more shiny and some added mechanics.

I play CoD 2 more than CoD 4 though. Must be the short campaign and the loss of my trusty Mosin Nagant. And the consoleified vibe.

I didnt really expected better news about Deus EX 3, for a long time now I make an a assumption that all new games are crap so i wont be dissaponted.

CoD4 It's like to drive a train, like an interactive movie. I don't like.

As I said, a prequel to Invisible War, it is highly unlikely we will something with the variety of the original Deus Ex again.

It tends to be the trend, I don't think we'll ever get back to truly innovative, non-dumbed down games.

Just too much risk/work involved.

Ughhh!!!!

* hits head repeatedly against wall *

"We're going to make a sequel that will live up to the classic, but because we think it is slow we will IMPROVE IT!"

I am sick and tired that every damn game, movie or television show is aimed at the retard of the group, simplifying it all to his level so that he doesn't feel that he is left out.

I god damn hate stupid gamers, each fucking year more of them appear on the scene and the developer wankers only all to eagerly cater to them.

Please let there be another game crash that will drive them all away, please!!!!!

Seems quite a trend. System Shock 2 went the same way with its spiritual successor, the constant baby-sit-feast that Bioshock was. I still clearly remember the humongous amounts of detail that SS2 had; every little thing, even a pack of crisps, had an immensely detailed description. In Bioshock you simply eat and drink your way through all the filth you find on the ground. And don't get me started on the fact that Bioshock is somehow being called an RPG. It's a creative shooter damnit, not an RPG.

Deus Ex already went downhill enough to my taste with DX:IW. Absolutely terrible terrible design decisions, horrible acting, hardly an improvement graphically (especially when it comes down to models, I mean what the bloody hell) the entire dumbed down interface, and other little facts like 'if I zoom in with this sniper rifle it magically deals more damage'. On itself DX:IW might have been a half-way decent game, but not as a successor to Deus Ex.

And now this. I quite dislike the 'oh dear I got shot twenty times, let me sit in a corner and suck my thumb, there, everythings alright'-gameplay element. It's unimaginative, extremely simple and takes away the entire range of actually receiving damage in a certain body part. You just get damage, but it won't hurt your aim, make you limp. It's like we're back in the first days of Quake.

Calling Deus Ex 'kinda slow' is like saying that a racegame is kinda fast, or that 'Thief: The Dark Project' should've had more 'fast paced stealth actionz' or that a game of chess 'kinda requires thinking' and should be easier. Or that soup is 'kinda watery' and should actually be filled with cake, chocolate and coffee, because we all like cake, chocolate and coffee.

unfortunately I don't think the real reason for all this is stupid gamers. I think gamers are made stupid by stupid games. all just because some guy in a suit says that games should be easier to access by anyone.

when I was a kid I often played complicated games without ever reading a manual or looking up information. I just learned on my own, and I loved learning how to figure it all out. I don't think kids today would have a problem with it if they weren't so used to dumb games.

also, it's the whole thing with graphics. I love nice graphics. I think it's great how graphics in games have evolved. but unfortunately they've become the most important part of the games and developers settle with smaller and simplified games so they can concentrate on good graphics and other gimmicks.

It's that they feed off each other. Publisher/Developer wants a larger market share so they reduced the difficultly of the game. Dumb gamers buy it larger numbers so the Publisher thinks they made the right decision. After awhile almost all games drop in difficulty so the Publisher loses some market share to other Publishers.... and drops the difficulty on their next game as a result. Round and round we go.

As for can the so called 'dumb gamers' or 'console tards' understand & enjoy games like Fallout 1.... well given time yes they can, but in the current industry they are so used to easy games that anything else frustrates them so more often than not they give up before ever finding the fun in older games.

I don't think, that I will like this heavy armored dude. And when they advertise with him, it lets me feel like this will not be better than Deus Ex 2.

Oh brother

Well there goes any cyberpunk secret agent feel.

Even the settings looks more futuristic to the somewhat near future Deus Ex.

Yeah except Bioshock was just the spiritual successor of SS2, while Deus Ex 3 is the direct sequel, kinda reminds me of a similar game that could have been a spin off or a spiritual successor, but became a direct sequel, with a completely different twist on game play.
Problem is Bioshock 2, Bioshock 3 and Bioshock movie are planned... with no mention of a System Shock sequel. A dumbed down spiritual successor can derail a series as much as a dumbed down sequel, if it's well recieved enough (and certainly Bioshock had a lot more market success than the System Shocks).

You should try multiplayer, it gives you a much better return on your investment.

Ugh I tried to register on the Deus Ex 3 website to receive more info about it... It's kind of shady. You must enter a mobile phone number and sign up to receive information about all Edios products, not just Deus Ex 3...
