Deus Ex 3 info

a mobile phone number? wth? go on and fax them your birth certificate along with your social insurance number. it would be great if you keep us updated on this, since you have sacrificed your life anyway.

cinde i replay deus ex for the umpteenth time, i am amazed how this game still manages to suck me in like a 400-euro-hooker. and thanks for crushing another hope that a well-established game franchise does NOT end up as another piece of soulless corporate minion afterwork entertainment barely filling a total of ~20 hours of gameplay.

It tends to be the trend, I don't think we'll ever get back to truly innovative, non-dumbed down games.

Just too much risk/work involved.

Life is a cycle, Pipe Viper. It's possible we'll have a return to the golden age when the players of the golden age of yore become the developers of tomorrow.

I'm sure this won't happen unless something big hits the world and sends us back to day one.

I have to wonder what kind of response would there be if the original Fallout dev team gave their blessing to Bethsheda's FO 3.

So has there been any news on this game?

What I have read so far is rather disheartening.

I have been playing the original Deus Ex again, such a shame we will not see anything like that game's design anymore in the series.

One thing I really love is all those small hidden rooms and passages.

unfortunately I don't think the real reason for all this is stupid gamers. I think gamers are made stupid by stupid games. all just because some guy in a suit says that games should be easier to access by anyone.

when I was a kid I often played complicated games without ever reading a manual or looking up information. I just learned on my own, and I loved learning how to figure it all out. I don't think kids today would have a problem with it if they weren't so used to dumb games.

also, it's the whole thing with graphics. I love nice graphics. I think it's great how graphics in games have evolved. but unfortunately they've become the most important part of the games and developers settle with smaller and simplified games so they can concentrate on good graphics and other gimmicks.

This is an issue I have to with my friends. I am (tragically) part of the current gen of gamers, and when I reccomend games to my friends (and I do a lot) they ask me questions on the most basic crap. I've resorted to the internet on some of the more complex games I've tackled (Jagged Alliance 2 jumps to mind) but not for games like Fallout, X-COM, or Roller Coaster Tycoon (which I recently encountered a bout of extreme retardation with when I attempted to mess around with it after a four or five year break or something).

Also, I really don't like all of these new cover systems and regenerative health of new games. Cover systems just seem to be forcing me to go to certain areas or locking me into a path. The problem I have with regenerative health is that it makes things TOO FUCKING EASY! I like CoD4 a lot, I liked how it sort of felt like I was playing a movie while not feeling bored. I didn't even mind the short length of the campaign, but the regenerative health made it laughably easy to beat. It wasn't even a little difficult on normal settings. I didn't bother replaying on a higher difficulty since the story wasn't so good I felt the need to play through it again, but I imagine it wouldn't be that much harder (could be wrong though). Seriously, what the fuck happened to *bangity bang* you're dead. The only recent game that jumps to mind as being difficult is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Clear Sky. Jesus, that's a game that knows how to kick your ass. None of this crap where I absorb lead like some sort of mystical bullet sponge.

Ugh, whatever /rant
