Diablo Immortal - Very funny.

I gave up on Blizzard a long time ago, but apparantly many people still believe they are a great company that cares about their fans and the franchises. Well, it seems this Blizzcon had a few surprises for Blizzard in order and not just their fans.

Omfg!!

Blizzcon is a train wreck!! We are announcing new Diablo game!!! For MOBILE! “Crowd silent”

They are getting ripped apart.

Hahaha omfg!

I am still surpried though, that some fans are still believing in Blizzard to be somewhat the kind of same company that made games like Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Warcraft and Starcraft possible. Like in this day and age.

Crni.. Blizz got what was coming to them.

I mean the plans were to reveal D4 alongside this abomination, However D4 development isn't going smoothly. Game director has been changed at least two times in last year. This probably says d4 is still in an early stage of development (a.k.a not ready for public release).

Hence why they pulled off d4 from blizzcon schedule like 2 weeks before the ceremony. The blogpost on d3 website said it all that it's going to take more time to develope "evil things".

I had a source for this info but unfortuneatly not in english. one of local news portals decided to share confidential info (breaking NDA probably) in order to try to explain the issue to stop shit-post-fest on their forums.

Truth is the plebs from d3 comunity throws shit on this game but will still play it. Although most will prefer Android emulators for PC where you can customize your controls, rather than breaking thumbs on 5 inch screen.

Funny thing is some people in blizzard foresaw this comming and left their positions. Like Mike Morhime Blizz's executive. He passed his position to a totally unknown guy.

Oh absolutely mate! Blizzard deserves a lot of flak. But not for this product in my opinion, but for their presentation where the developers and executives seem to be completely clueless about the target audience that attends their shows at Blizzcon. You get a lot of gamers in there with probably pretty expensive gaming PCs at home and you tell them, wait you don't like this cheap ass monetized product we threw out? Yes, you can of course criticse and hate Blizzard for making a mobile game out of Diablo as a franchise, but if you're surprised about this move as a fan, then I have to ask my self under which rock you must have been living. So when I look at some of those youtubers al lbeeing, BOYCOTT BLIZZARD! And the company is now dead to me! I kinda have to roll my eyes. It's like as if you would only realize now with Fallout 76 that Bethesda is making Fallout games for the money and not to make proper Fallout games where they do not care about what Fallout fans want.

If you're really mad at Blizzard for monetizing a 20+ year old franchise, then you really havn't been paying attention I think. It's not like I wasn't in that position once when Bethesda released Oblivion which I was really very hyped for as a fan of Morrowind, just to realize that Bethesda as a company does not give a shit about their fans, hell I believe that Todd Howard outright lied to people when he explained Oblivion at E3 showing features that never made it into the final game. And it really is the same with Blizzard, I loved Diablo 2 and Star Craft 1, I still play SC1 to this day as it's a really good RTS game with a neat story behind it. But the Blizzard that made those kind of games possible is long gone and I am surprised some people still feel like Blizzard betraid them just now and not 15 years ago, when the Diablo 2 team pretty much decied to leave the company or when they got bought out by Activision.

Or to say it like this, there is zero chance that even a Diablo 4 released on the PC will ever be anything in the spirit of Diablo 2 or even Diablo 1.

Blizzard died when Blizzard North did. All Blizzard is now is the bitch of Activision and they only care about money.

I agree this is very funny.

I can now imagine that community is split into 3:

1. group actively disliking/hating on Blizz while STILL downloading the game, giving the company attention, watching the trailers, reading every tweet, knowing every detail including Wyatt Cheng's bathroom schedule

2. group actively coming to Blizz's aid defending the decisions (AKA true "fanboys" of the company), supporting the company

3. Ex-Blizzard fans now observers laughing at both groups.

Beth got a lot of pops for that little teaser, Blizz gave them a giant fuck you. XD
Gotta give credit to Wyatt Cheng's attitude during presentation though. Imagine if he'd had that same energy presenting a Diablo IV teaser.

As someone who has no time to game at all anymore, I appreciate a good mobile game but this looks like shit.

They could have generated much more positive excitement if they simply announced ports of Diablo 1 and/or 2.

Titan quest mobile port is pretty good. They could have made this happen. Would be a must buy for me and many others.

Yeah, this is the real issue kinda, it's astonishing how no one really thought about the kind of backlash it would generate if all they presented to the people was a new Diablo game on mobile phones.

https://www.pcgamer.com/rumor-blizz...at-blizzcon-but-cancelled-at-the-last-minute/

Apparently they were gonna actually announce Diablo 4 but "they weren't ready for the announcement". More like they saw the backlash Diablo Immortal got, got angry, and decided to not reveal the game to guilt trip the fans. It's like "Oh, you didn't liked the reveal of a crappy Diablo mobile game? We are no longer announcing the game you actually want".

It's petty and pathetic as shit.

Just watched the Blizzcon video. Wow. I kinda feel sorry for them, and I can understand why they thought this would be a good idea as a product (mobile is the epicentre, president, secretary, presiding member and founder of The Microtransactions = $$$). Kinda.

They were genuinely so surprised that no one was having it. That no one cared. Like, they tried to downplay the hype before the event "yeah, we've got something.... diablo related" (paraphrasing). But look at what else they unveiled. Warcraft III remaster? A new overwatch character? Was this mobile game supposed to be the point of the show? No, really, I'm confused.

People say that modern gaming companies are out of touch with their fanbases, that most don't even understand the concept of what the fuck a fanbase even is. I used to think this was hyperbole. Used to...

edit: @Norzan ah yeah, I forgot about that whole backlash when they started getting snarky questions from the crowd. Like we're "being entitled". Screw that attititude, Blizzard.

Oh, don't worry, they've also announced that *all* their IPs will be getting mobile games and they've been transferring their major devs from their key projects to work on 'more projects than we've ever had going on at one time before'. Including 'occasionally outsourcing to 3rd parties to work closely with' to get it all done.

The only game I like playing on my mobile is the "keep the battery from dying before I get home and put it on charge again" game.

Alarm bells are ringing after hearing this. Are they real or the ones in my head...

Crni I think You got me all wrong mate I'm not mad or angry or whatever.. Actually i think it resides within inside my lower intensine mixed with dung.

Perhaps I'm a bit sad that Diablo lore Is mixing with shit now. I think that this mobile title is going to see a bright future on the contrary to what most die-hard fans belive. Although Personally I think Most of the complainers will play D:Immortal on an Android emulator installed on their PC's.

For me D3 might be a bad diablo game, and bad ARPG. but it's hell of a fun action game despite it's flaws, and excels in some way over d2 at least in mob density. However in most ways d3 is indeed inferior to d2.

Same as with Fallout Fo3 Fo4 and Fo:NV aren't considered fallout games by Me. Those are just FPS with rpg elements and most of them is not even west coast. However Fo:Resurrecton and Fo:Nevada are treated by me as canon since they are firstly isometric, and secondly have the feel and looks of classic fallut games in terms of graphic engine possibilities and quest design.
Not to mention the lore isn't fucked with mostly although Fo:Nevada takes a huge right hook into the lore's jaw in terms of Vault8 future in Fo2.

Eh, yeah but what can you do. You either give up on gaming alltogether, or you live long enough to become a cynic.

I knew Blizzard changed a long time ago but I still had faith in them to release decent games until NOW. I'm never buying a Blizzard game ever again.

I'm going to go ahead and give my two cents about this, because this is the internet and it is what people do while in real life we're being told to shut the fuck up already haha.

As a fan of the original two Diablo games, which are my favs. along Fallout 1+2 and the games I played the most, I don't see why fans are being outraged over a Diablo Mobile game.

I go as far and say I'm flabbergasted people are outraged over it because they got what they deserved. A Diablo Mobile game is the logical continuation of Diablo 3 which already had nothing to do with Diablo anymore and deviated big time from the core principles of Diablo 1 + 2 and was just total garbage in my opinion.

I have no opinion of this since I didn't bother to play 3 but grew up on 1 & 2 as well but I think we NMA community are getting exactly what we deserve with Fallout 4/76 and future Beth projects too. I hope Beth put Fallout 76 and make a Fallout 69 for mobile one day

I...what? What we "deserve"? How does anyone in NMA deserve either 4 or 76? Fuck, there's war criminals I'd still suggest better games to just not to insult the medium.(This is hyperbole, but not as much as it should be) There's also already Fallout shelter, but I think you're implying something more supposed to mimic a Bethesda action-exploration game (I mean....) that masquerades as an RPG and continues to damages the franchise for it. Is it because some of us got into Fallout with 3? Because I did and it took NV to get me invested enough to actually learn anything and I don't think most of us purchased 76. Those of us who did purchase 4 were sipping the cool-aid that Bethesda might have learned something and I think that crowd has largely learned its lesson. So besides having the thought that people can improve how, did any of us do a wrong to deserve any of those hollow empty products wearing the face of a favored companion?
