Swedish treasure hunters found a strange object during a sonar scan, it's clearly disc-shaped and has a fairly noticeable trail behind it.

Yes, it does. It was also the first thing I thought about.
Anyway: it's probably nothing geology can't explain (eventually).

The Bloop was apparently 5 times louder than the loudest creature, and it's sound pattern placed it coming from an animal. Freaky stuff.
