Sorry for sounding like a broken record but is there anything inherently wrong/creepy with a guy "earning" a girls love? Or vice versa?. Also does untastfull nudity always= bad?. If i make a campy B-movie in the style of sorority girls and the slime bowl- o -rama/ toxic avenger, filled with tasteless violence and nudity should my move be called " digusting sexist trash" or should it be viewed as just simply entertainment that does its intended goal well/or not well.

I kind of actually just discussed this. But to rephrase my answer for this, no there's nothing wrong with that but it runs into two things.

1. Mixing stroke fodder and serious storytelling in one game doesn't help either because those looking for one or the other are getting a diluted batch for both.

2. You don't need to give up great storytelling with great characters to have cheap fun entertainment or vice versa.

No one is saying ban Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball. It's the issue of saying maybe it's a good thing Lara has human breasts and clothes now.

To show how the game industry is improving, compare and contrast Wolfenstein and Doom. Wolfenstein is a serious story full of characterization, romance, and deep serious issues among the Nazi murdering mayhem. Doom doubles down on the fact Doomguy is a pure psychopathic spirit of pain and murder mayhem with no personality beyond it.

And both work perfectly fine. There's Pepsi AND Coke.

I absolutely agree with this. There's always gonna be someone calling lowbrow pulp trash, but it's still just mindless fun imo, which I love.

I just don't want games to be ALL burgers!

I don't think Witcher 2 handled sex maturely tbh.

Some random elf chick sucking you off because you saved her from a burning building doesn't exactly seem like the most mature way to handle sex.

Witcher 3 handled it maturely though.

That was actually a parody of video game romance according to the developers. Specifically elf girl wants to repay you for saving her life and thinks that's what you want.

Which, of course, the majority of gamers do.

Hence why she goes, 'Whew, glad that's over with. Goodbye!'

Because its not our job to hold peoples hand. No one else had people "work to get them resources" so why should they get special treatment? They should hsve to put in the hard work that everyone else did not get a "special snowflake" free pass.

Of course it's not your job to hold anyone's hand, and of course people are going to make their own things regardless of your input.

And like, yeah they did man. What do you think publishers do? What do you think crowdfunding is for?

Battlefield 1 and Mafia III were not crowd funded indie games made by black people lol
I wouldnt care of that was the truth but the point is its affecting and fucking with mainstream titles and franchises thst have already existed for a long time and now need to be forcibly "enriched" suddenly to give us a nice taste of the dev's political views.

I suppose when it has a purpose in the movie there's a story or character reason for it it's fine. Like the character is a whore or a creep or their drunk etc.

But uh... Have you ever seen mallrats? Joey adams' tit shot in that movie is just... It rubs me in such a wrong way. There's no character or story reason for it. It just cuts to her in the dressing room at the moment just before she's decent.

However later in the film the two main protagonists go see a "topless fortune teller" and it's easily one of th movies highlight because there's a reason for it (albeit a flimsy one, or maybe she was just lying to them) and her uhh deformity and Lee's reactions are fucking priceless.

So uhhh I hope I made the difference and my opinion clear enough.

Dozens of video games come out a year in the AAA market and you're hung up on those two? Why not just play something else if you're bothered by them having black people in them?

Those two are just the most recent and ergregeous.

So the franchises are ruined by virtue of their having black people in them, is what you're saying?

And I didn't say that, I mentioned how you could help independent minority developers getting set up so they don't eat up your sweet precious Battlefield and Mafia sequels.
