i judge them because they're retards

and you obviously do have a problem with my opinion or you wouldn't of sounded so salty quoting me lol

What I meant is that I don't have anything against you in particular. I just don't understand how people can be so quick to judge others.

 Not accordingly to Clinical psychologists Dr. Andrea Letamendi and Dr. Robin Rosenberg:

We felt we didn’t have evidence that this was true, that dressing up as a character was any sign of mental illness. We thought honestly can we provide some scientific evidence and some kind of data that would show cosplayers, while a unique community that might prefer some behaviors maybe others don’t, are not exhibiting mental illness or higher incidences of problematic conditions compared to others

While these pieces of the data show how the cosplay community may differ from the general population, other results support the idea that cosplayers are just like everyone else. The participants did not differ from the general population in terms of education, with many different levels represented from graduate or professional school to vocational education. The largest percentage, 42.3 percent, held a four-year college or university degree.

Professions represented include accounting, cosmetology, food service, science, journalism, and more. The largest percentage of participants, 9.3 percent, identified in retail or sales while only 2.4 percent identified their profession as accounting or banking.

The results showed that these cosplayers were not more extroverted or introverted than the average person, and there was no substantial difference between genders

The top reason people cosplay is because it’s fun. You can’t pinpoint an abnormality in that. It’s no different than someone who plays in a band or plays sports.

So clinical psychologists reached the conclusion that people that cosplay are just like any other normal human, I think that is quite a proof that cosplayers are not retard .

An article about the study can be found here: http://www.dailydot.com/fandom/psychology-cosplay-survey-results/

Oy vey. Why has there have to be a study for everything? The fact that people needs a study like this to feel secure is sort of bad commentary on humanity as a whole.

Even if this study didn't exist, would one really consider someone who dresses up a retard? There's no such thing as immaturity in a hobby.
Maturity is simply the ability to respond to the world in an appropriate and sensible manner. What one does in their free time is none of other people's business.

You gotta be pretty insecure if you need to call others Losers just for a hobby.

I personally don't cosplay because 1. I don't have abilities for handcrafts so making a costume myself would be pretty impossible and I am not going to spend money on getting a premade one, 2. I don't have that much free time nowadays and 3. the only Fallout character I can cosplay is Vic or Jesus Mordino (Altho I have too much hair)

But calling others retards or losers for that is pretty laughable.

And here you are, making my point so people can understand them again. Thank you. No, seriously.

It's not about whether cosplay is good or bad, it's just that telling people their hobbies are crap is just plain wrong. Done and done. It's a free opinion sure, but disrespectful if you keep pushing it.

I guess what I mean to say was that it's not my sort of thing but it's okay if other people do it. It does look like the costumes take a lot of dedication though so I'll give them that. I'll admit some of those women that cosplay tend to...look pretty...good in those outfits... :look:

You guys realize you are on a forum dedicated to a videogame right? Are you seriously gonna take the Maturity higher ground?

I find the mature high ground stupid, but how are video game childish? They're like any other medium in my opinion.

I think costume design is, in fact, a medium. Not quite the same type of medium, similar to how both books and watercolors are mediums, but still.
