Do You Ever Play As the Opposite Gender?

I haven't installed the Apache Helicopter mod so I haven't roleplayed as all the genders.

But I do. First run it's usually a male for obvious reasons but I switch it around in all other runs.

I think people are too busy surviving in the Wasteland to identify as a aromantic, gender-fluid, trans-lesbian, vertibird-kin.

I sometimes do switch it up if the game reacts to what sex you're playing as, which is a nice feature to add to RPGs, increasing re-playability and immersion. Also it depends on what character I'm thinking of playing. I don't often play as a dude, but it seemed the right choice for my most recent New Vegas character, a tough outdoorsman and hunter, and ex-deputy sheriff.

Apparently there are some advantages of playing as a woman over a man. In the first two games, female characters run faster in certain types of armor. Also, in Fallout 2, you can charge men to have sex with you, whereas if you are a man you have to pay a prostitute for sex. Also, if you take the sex appeal perk as a woman, you can get lower prices from the many male merchants. Fallout 3 gives female characters the black widow perk.

I have played the games many times as both a man and a woman. My most recent playthroughs of the first two games were a male burst fire sharpshooter using big guns and a female sniper switching to energy weapons, in other words I have a different way of playing for each gender. Currently I'm doing the same for Fallout 3. My male character is a sharpshooter who focused on dealing high damage withough relying on stealth. Currently, I'm playing as a female character who is being built as a stealthy assassin. Already she has the perforator, silent running, and the chinese stealth armor. The only other differences is that she'll be taking both silent running and ninja instead of finesse.

About Fallout 3 and NV, I have my personal preference. I like to think of LW as a woman, I like the archetype "Daddy's little girl" and the courier as a man because the courier must be a cowboy and if you think differently you are wrong :jiggy:

Oh fuck yes. Why wouldn't I?

Makes role playing as a brand new character that much easier. Fallout has had playing as both sexes an option from the very beginning of the series, and I've taken advantage of it every time. Isn't completely game changing, but there are fun and interesting little differences of dialogue you can have between characters and certain factions.

Typically, and perhaps stereo typically, my male characters are more prone to melee, while my female characters have more sneak and are more prone to resolving things through speech.

I think most guys do. It is a little different for inherently social games like MMOs but not by much. I mean people play multiple characters at once but that doesn't mean they have multiple personality disorder.

I do a little role playing sometimes. I pretend that Doctor Borous suspicion of my character being a communist was partly due to being Chinese. My female character has daddy issues with Mr. House or something (it wasn't a big part of her character).

Current tactics PC is a female, kinda based on this autie activist chick friend of mine. Focused on stealth, strength, agility (the girl is a special ed kid's gym and acrobatics coach), good intelligence (she's damn smart), main role is as a sniper and close combat specialist. Main weapons are a CAWS combat shotgun and sniper rifle. Although she's packing a browning M2, some depleted uranium ammo and a couple of plasma grenades just for those moments when all hell is going to break loose plus a ripper just in case things go south and it gets up close and ugly.

Looking decent in MK II metal armor.
