Do you still have faith in Obsidian as a developer?

Regarding the topic's question, I don't really know to be honest.
I actually haven't played that many of Obsidian's games and the ones I did were sequels or spinoffs to other developers' games such as KOTOR2 and of course FNV.
I also have Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer somewhere but I never played that one.

But I never really played any of Obsidian's "original" titles such as Alpha Protocol or Tyranny. I have a copy of POE which was gifted to me last Christmas.

The Outer Worlds would be the first game that is completely their own that I will play if I buy it.

We gamers do indeed have a tendency to make "Rock Stars" of certain developers, and of course do the opposite to other developers.
I definitely enjoy a lot of Avellone's past work but regarding Fallout I do not agree of him wanting to reset the West Coast with another nuclear holocaust (Fallout should have headed Eastwards and not all the new campaigns should chronologically follow another)

I am willing to give Tim Cain a chance on this project but I don't know what to make of the company as a lot of people that worked on the titles that I did play have left.

I definitely do not have a high opinion of Feargus, and Obsidian now being owned by Microsoft will not suddenly mean that they will developed loads of games that will appeal to me, especially not after kickstarter and how that disappointed me.

My magic 8 ball says that the future is uncertain.

Edit: just read the post before this one.
Way to go Obsidian, guess I will not buy that game on release day.
Then I might as well wait until it comes out on GOG.

I have confidence but I wouldn’t call it faith. I think they’ll come through but I can’t say I’m necessarily counting on it
