Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?

Oh no! You guys are having an interesting conversation and I just wanted to ask what movies do you like?
I've been hearing how Hollywood has been making films to cater more to Chinese audiences and just wanted to know your thoughts on this. What movies are popular in China?
I was also wondering if there are any Chinese films that you would recommend. We get a lot of South Korean and Japanese films here, but a lot of Chinese films don't get much exposure except for a few action films.
My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. I watched it when I was very young, and I have watched many great movies after that. But Forrest Gump is simply the best one to me.
It's true that we see many Chinese artists in Hollywood's films, their fans will be happy but I don't really care about it. I think if a Chinese actor or actress will really do help to a movie, then it will be great to see them. But if it is just for the tickets which will be bought by their fans, then no thanks, it's really unnecessary. I would like to say Chinese movie fans like to watch movies which have superstars, or have some big scenes (better in IMAX 3D), or just to be cute and funny and suitable for children. And then you will find almost all the Hollywood films will meet that standard, and that's almost the case. Chinese government will only imported limited films from Hollywood to protect native movies.
I would like to recommend "Assembly" (2007, Director Feng Xiao Gang) as a Chinese war movie, "Spring Subway" (2001, Director Zhang Yi Bai) as a Romance movie, "Homecoming"(2014, Director Zhang Yi Mou) as a literary film and " The Emperor And The Assassin" (1999, Director Chen Kai Ge) as a historical movie. I don't recommend Ang Lee's recent movies because he is not so "Chinese", he is from Taiwan and his style is very Hollywood.
