Doom 3 Goes Gold (Warning - Spoilers Within)

Definitely does not work.

there is in the whole game i believe 2 lockers that open with the combination 123. i believe it's explained that his coworkers are so incompetent and stupid that the boss picked that code to have them remember it.

Plus, why bother hacking a locker? You're just going to need to find the PDA with the combo anyways.

90% of the PDAs should just lie there on your way to your next objective... it's not as if you can take a thousand different ways to walk to the next level. the first time i played there was but two lockers i didnt have the code for, one of them being the martian locker thing you gotta go search for on the internet.

ohh My bad then. Did I mention my friend has successfully opened around 5 lockers and 3 doors with that code? Must be a bug limited to his game then.

you peaked meh interest, so i did some research and found this:

Cabinet Lock Codes
Enter these on the panels found on the numbered cabinets through out the game.

i dunno about doors though, didnt find anything on that...

I just bought this game but I haven't opened the box yet, because I'm not sure if it'll work.

I have a

P4 2.4 GHz
1.5 GB RAM
Geforce 4 Ti 4600 (128 MB)
Windows XP
80 gig HD

Will it be enough to play Doom 3? I'm not a resolution whore, at least not anymore.

Are you serious? I like you Baboon, but that's a seriously stupid question. Aside from your video card, why would you even have any doubt that you could run ANY game on your computer? This is only slightly less worse that someone asking "I have a brand new Alienware computer with Athalon64 3400, 2 Gigs of ram and dual Nividia 6800s, but I'm scared it's not good enough to run Doom3. Can someone recommend an upgrade?"

Sorry, it's just I have a P4 1.8 Ghz with PC2100 ram, on an HP Pavillion computer and I've never had a problem running any game. It's annoying when people near top of the line computers ask if games will work for them. They don't design these games to run on supercomputers.

I bought it two years ago, and it's not really top of the line, as I've had some problems running a few games. It's just that Far cry runs like shit on even the lowest settings, and Doom 3 was a tad too expensive not to work. I'm pretty sure it'll at least work, it's just that I'm nervous, and want to be absolutely sure (for instance, even Return to Castle Wolfenstein won't run properly).

Sorry if I offended you though, Montez. ;)

Sorry to rant at you man, I had a little too much coffee this morning. To answer your question seriously, you won't get any of the special effects that rely on DX9 but it will be playable in 800x600. You'll probably get better frame rates than me as well. I couldn't get the Far Cry demo to run worth anything on my computer either.

I bet you can run it pretty good at medium details 1024x768 ress. Places with alot of monsters will probably cause the fps to sink like a ship for a few seconds.

with a Ti4600 i think you want to steer clear from 1024x768...

rather go for 800x600 with 2x AA

could very well be

but i'm just saying that the image will probably be better on a 17" if you run it 800x600 with 2x AA & 2x AF

of course if you got a bigger screen you might wanna go with higher resolutions yeah

Well, I'm running the game on 640*480 and low detail and without background applications, it runs quite smoothly. Scary shit. I'm only at that EPD thing for now, didn't figure out how to open the martian buddy locker.

You have to go to the web page to find the code (in real life, not in the game). If you aren't too far ahead (can't remember what EPD stands for) you should go back and open it, but what you find in there isn't going to be much use for a long time so it's no big deal. Write the code down though, you'll want it for later in the game.
