Dreaming, and you

I dream heavy. They are strong dreams, often emotionally draining, and I have a lot of recurring themes

Teeth coming out of my gums, needing to be chewed back in place, this came back to me for years. It started to fade off, after I begun to "give in", in my dreams, and just pull all my teeth out. I'd find that I had a new set growing underneath, and everything was fine. When I was little, one milk-tooth was very delayed, and I even forgot about them, untill it came loose. I was terrified, and thought a normal tooth of mine was falling out of my mouth for no reason. This probably dug itself into my subconcious.

Inability to walk properly, was very common for years, but has also faded off a bit lately. In my dreams, my feet won't work properly, I have to drag them along the ground - and sometimes I'll lean forward, touch the ground w my hands, and run - on my arms - sortof like going "wheelbarrow", as if my body was floating behind me, using my finger-tips to drag myself ahead. These dreams are exhausting. I suspect this is my feet tangled up in my blankets - but I'm not sure, since it only happens now and then.

Executions, of me, by firearm. This is a disturbing little thing that has come to me more and more as of late. For whatever reason, in my dream, someone will come up to me and shoot me in the head, and ill feel a variety of sensations, depending on dream to dream, sometimes I'll instantly black out/wake up, other times I'll fall together in a dead lump, feeling blood oozing out of my face, other times I'll just tilt over with a tingling sensation in my head. None of these dreams are particularily comfy.

My lost flat, this is odd. I've moved from flat to flat over the years, but in these dreams, it usually "turns out" that I am still paying for a previous flat, and therefore own two. I feel a sense of neglect for my old flat, and go look for it. Quite often, I'll find my old flat fully furnished, with tons of stuff that apparently belongs to me, but that I can't remember, making me feel bad.

My childhood apartment + laptop. I never owned a laptop, but I'll often return to the apartment I grew up, that we long since moved from before I moved out from home, and my mother will of course still live there, my room is still there, and apparently I have a laptop, with games and stuff (usually civilization 3 :D) and sometimes I even have age-old hasheesh in some drawer, that I never actually get to smoke. Sometimes these dreams include rediscovering a budgerigar in a cage. I had these when I was little. In my dream I will be overcome with worry - how could I have forgotten a dear pet like this, and how has it survived unfed for years? Awful :D

Consumables, food, drink, weed, impossible. I cannot consume anything, in dreams, ever. I have asked around, and I know others that can, so... it's just me - and hopefully some others :D

Theft. For some reason I tend to steal a lot in dreams. These dreams tend to focus around the theft, and also tend to go into an annoying loop. I will typically move around supermarket isles, or store shelves or something, and wait for "a good moment" to hide my loot, or I'll be trying to find something better to steal. Alternatively I actually want to buy something, but can't find the exact version of what I want. Annoying.

Breaking and entry
, related to above, but I never steal any. I explore. I open doors in apartment buildings, and just enter to snoop around. Sometimes I climb walls and balconies. In the latest one I had, the whole building collapsed, but I was fine.

Gigantic weather, mega-tsunamis the size of mountains, coming over the horizon - or a discrete but creepy rise in sea level, enough just to make my shoes wet, but totally creep me out. Other times have been roaring sky, black, green, matrix-esque. Often water, often rivers, flooding, or rivers galopping. In one dream the river itself was like traffic, in the sense that a car-bridge had to halt traffic every now and then, when the river decided to roar past, like a huge foamy wall of... foam...
This one in particular is probably based on a scare I had when I was 19, not really scared, but seriously freaked out - as I experienced my first "flash flood", as melting-water rushed down the mountain sides, and totally surprised me as it suddenly appeared, and roared past me on the sides of the road. I had never seen anything like it, and since exaggerations have featured in my dreams.

Teleportation/"fast travel", probably inspired by games and movies, but I've dreamt of super-duper metro stations, that would transport you across the globe, and I visited my family in "Spain" (cus it's not really Spain, nor looks anything like it), I also strolled casually from here to a city taking a real life 6 hour bus-ride to get to. At least twice I did a "tcl cheat" in order to evade pursuers by floating through walls, and flying away from there.

"wet" dreams are very rare, and they usually take bad, uncomfortable turns, such as one time, when broccoli fell out of her. Yeah, guess where it fell out from. Total turnoff.

Murder? Only once. I decapitated a guy in a dream once, and turned his head into cheese, and cut it into small cubes.

Weapons, often, and always stupidly malfunctional, in the sense that they never fire, but require me to shout "BANG >:O" which has absolutely no effect. Fuck you dream-brain. In one I had an M60, and went around yelling "ratatata"

SOME dreams are just amazing, colorful, joyfilled, I had 2-3 flying dreams. Others are just bothersome, such as one where my best friend came for a visit, dragged plenty of gangster-friends with him, set fire to my apartment, chased me out of the house, and shot me several times in the back.

In fact, my last executed by shot to the head dream was last night, and I can't wait to see what I'll dream of tonight :]

So!
Who's a dreamer?
Recurring concepts, favorite concepts? Dreaded recurring themes? Sentimental stuff? After I lost my cat, almost every dream I had the next year was about the cat coming back to me :(

I've just skimmed through your post, but I will read it later.
However, I have to say: "I know that feel".

I have recurring themes too, very often, and often in similar places - in fact, I have "designed" a map of this City, as I simply call it, City and its surroundings where the "main hub" (catch up with the terminology) of my dreams is happening. It's like a stage, really, and every new dream is a new film shot in similar places with same or similar actors. Some of the films are unrelated, others are not.

Anyway, as to put a bit of my disturbing dreams in this post, I'll mention wet dreams - not necessarily wet dreams, but dreams revolving around sex. I got fucked up by those many times.
The girls in my dreams often turn out to be either machine like in nature (in one dream, I was doing it on the roof of some house, and moments before I was finished she turned into this slick robot, reminiscent of Mr Gutsy, only way more modern and smaller), or are corpses (whether they are dead or dying when I begin is debatable), have some form of malformity (the last sexy dream had a girl that was *empty* from inside - as in, I see her pelvic and abdominal cavity, I see her bones through her opening down there- no organs at all) or are grotesque figures which are utterly repulsive (usually, I realize this moment before I'm done - e.g. one girl had her huge breasts growing out of her belly).
The most fucked up one, and I could be saying this for the first time ever, is when I dreamt of doing it with my younger sister. In fact, the dream was "normal" up until moments before the end, when *someone* forcibly transformed the girl, whoever she was into my sis.
Man, that fucked me up for days. I couldn't sleep well. I still don't, whenever I think about it.

But that's just one theme. I hate my sexy dreams. Especially if they turn into wet ones.
I'll post more later.

Teeth falling out is very common (for men, at least).
Another favourite of mine is 'being extremely tired but unable to sleep, often in unusual/uncomfortable places'.
Also, non-functioning light switches/electrical appliances.

Paging the Dutch Ghost. Paging Mr Ghost! . .

On the subject of my dreams: I never have any I can remember. That is, for the last few years. I once had one where I was a ghost, but family members could see me and I was setting up my own funeral.

I don't usually remember my dreams but recently ive had a series of really bizarre sleep paralysis dreams that center around a "him" coming and talking to me, always outside of my view and with weird things like my tv on and turned to static or a hissing/screeching sound.

I need to lay off the caffeine

You know what the worst one is? The one that will haunt you for life?

 IT'S EXAM TIME AND YOU HAVEN'T STUDIED A SINGLE THING YET! Sometimes you even lack the proper books. Fuck! What now?

It happens when you've gone to university and it's so common everyone I know who went to university has this dream/nightmare from time to time. I hate it because it fools me everytime.

When I stopped smoking pot my dreams returned to me with such power, they were more like nightmares, even if the theme of them was simple stuff like being chased by a horde of naked sluts. I would wake up soaking wet. After about three weeks my brains were able to deal with the intensity of the dreamworld again and now I'm back to normal.

Given up Pot eh, what happened Alec...you were a Pot lover for many years, Pot and sexy feet.

Atomkilla, yes, I do get a certain "dream city", it is vaguely based on my home town, but it has certain unique features that my memory seem to have registered, and that recur. I also tried to map my recurring-city, but it is difficult without employing "waking logic", and HAHA man that has to be traumatic... I have had similar shit happen in my dreams... disturbing, really... in fact, this reminds me of a little "genre" of dreams that I forgot entirely, the
Rage dream, where I completely freak out at people, usually family, and just explode at them with unstoppable fury. These are very rare, I can only remember two or three, but the worst one was the first night away from home, near the arctic circle, at mandatory military service. For an aspie (undiagnosed at the time), the experience was very stressful, in a cold, tense way. I was also very worried that the piss-test they had done was for drugs, and that they would discover weed-traces and send me back home, after the proud send-off they did just prior, which would have been a huge embarassment. That night I dreamt that I brutally slaughtered my mother and brother, and threw them down a well. I woke up completely terrified, but from then on everything went smoothly :D

Alec, I'm having that happen a lot on and off lately. Weed "muffles" my dreams, and whenever I go without, dreams come back like a tornado. Sometimes I really appreciate the quiet dreamless nights, shutting your eyes, and opening them again 8 hours later "pling", other times I am glad I've had the "experiences" dreams bring, cus after all, it's free visual stuff, scenarios, places, a virtual reality!

Hassknecht, ever tried to dial a phone in a dream? I read something about dreams being unable to produce readable text, I'm not sure about that, but there is something to non-functionality in dreams - dialling phones never worked for me, tying shoelaces always failed, then again - it's probably not so much about the appliance or whatever, but that the dream goes into an annoying loop.
It's like that age old brain trick "Do not think about a black cat" and there you are, thinking about a black cat. Your subconcious keeps looping itself into a "it won't work", or something such, and similar to being awake - only a distraction will fix it - like the teeth dreams, where the "fix" was to "go with it", at least for me, and pull all my teeth out by hand. My logical mind "registers" that I now have pulled all my loose teeth, so it "has no choise" but to agree with it - and voila, no more loose teeth - for that night at least :D

I read text in my dreams all the time. I just woke up and distinctly remember reading a pill bottle off to my mom and asking her what it was for.
I have some great dreams but nothing really recurring. Except these "documentary" dreams where it feels like I'm either watching or part of a documentary/ news broadcast. This is almost certainly due to falling asleep with a program playing on youtube/ netflix.

The most recent fucked up dream I had was me watching a video on youtube of an elephant in a circus going total rage and charging up the middle of a packed movie theatre style auditorium. When it got to the top it put it's tusks through the commentator's face while he was still commentating and all these people were trying to get the elephant off of him.

Well, I guess we can safely say that text-reading is possible then. I cannot remember ever having watched tv or a movie in a dream - however I did hallucinate in a dream.
I can only vaguely remember chatting/foruming in dreams, but nothing I remember clearly. In fact, as of late, NMA was included in a dream, but again, only as a hazy vague detail I barely remember

Another odd thing is car-driving. In real life, I never drove a car. At all. In dreams, a few times, I drove cars, and it is always very... wonky. From Flintstones-type "running" with the car, to a almost telekinetic operation, where I "will" the car ahead.

Hell, in my dream, I typed a text, and then read it. Okay, I didn't type it, but I "spoke" it, and it appeared before me.
It looked like a regular piece of paper, with typed story, seemingly with an old machine. I don't know what's the "story" about, but I remember it had some sense...in a dreamy kind of way...

Recently I had some nasty fever and the pills I was taking put me to sleep right away, The most notable dream I had went like this:

I started out in a huge ass hotel that looked like my university yet everyone was wearing school uniforms. Then I got into the bathroom, and all the stalls were made out of frosted glass, as soon as I entered one I was inside a 4x4 on the road to a beach city that my mother apparently owned for some reason, the place was a weird combination of a typical colombian colonial style town and one of those swampy jungle towns you see in movies when they need to design a cultist town. As I spent time there I was drawn to the beach which looked quite nice except for the fact that the sun looked like one of those circular fractals, like a huge cell with branches. For some reason I started swimming, and the water was boiling hot, so I started swimming faster and faster until I reached the Fractal sun and went trough it, like it was a backdrop or something. But on the other side was just high in the air, looking at the same beach town but the sun was now blue, as I satrted falling I kept going through the sun, everytime things getting more and more blurred and fuzzy. Unti lI woke up bathed in seat and wit ha splitting headache.

I am rarely able to recall a dream in chronological order like that. Ill remember certain images, short moments, often very clearly, but still only loose moments.

One very creepy dream I remember perfectly well, started out under ground, allready surreal, in the sense that I was in a kind of subterranean city - streets, alleys, and 1-story buildings (up to the cave ceiling). Immediately it was creepy, because everything was very clean, and there were no people there. The creepyness reached a top, when I noticed a bakery/cafeteria, with big empty windows, completely empty interior, but counters and such (all empty) and all brightly lit inside. I thought to hell with this, I'm leaving, so I entered a crispy clean alley, with a metal door and a green "Exit" sign above it (not making it up! :D) then it all gets so, so... intense
on the other side of this door is a cellar floor, and wide stairways up from there. An old classmate (of no particular significance to me) called Kenneth is standing there, staring at me, with a shocked face - hissing "Don't tell me you were down there! Please don't tell me you were down there!!!"
This obviously freaks me the hell out, but before I can answer, I hear childrens voices, chanting ghostishly at me, calling me by my name, beckoning me o_o "coooome with us", I barely turn, to see white night-gown dressed children, I am so fucking scared, I can't do anything, I collapse on the ground, and I am dragged back towards the subterranean city - untill I scream out "Kenneth!" in order to change their chant.
It works, and they call "Kenneeeeth!" and he helplessly runs along with them, and I break free, and storm up the stairs, to get the hell out of there.
I wake up in my bed, my TV is on, and I feel like shit. I look above me, and there is a hammock in my room, with a stranger man sleeping in it. I press my face into the pillows, screaming "WAKE UUUUP!" and I finally wake up, to a dark bedroom, and a turned off tv.

I actually had to touch the walls, to reassure myself that I was finally really awake, and I was far from eager to fall back asleep. This is my favorite bad dream, if there can be such a thing, and I've done my best to remember it as it was, and not add any new elements.

Well that was just a summary of what I remember, there are other images that I don't remember if are from the same dream or just my head filling out the gaps.

I once woke up in a dream into another dream. Was lying in my bed and everything was undream-like and all. So I thought, sweet, means I can control my dream if I know I'm dreaming. Stretch out my body to fly. . nothing happens. Then I wake up. Fuck you, dream.

I am sometimes unsure if I am dreaming or not.
I might get mischeavous in dreams - like mentioned above, I might get an urge to break into homes, and explore - something that in reality has quite serious consequences :D
In many a dream I will promptly stop myself "omg what if this isn't a dream!? I could be in serious trouble!!!"

I just had an awesome boss fight dream. It was me in a warehouse complex vs some lunatic in a 16 wheeler. I had no guns or anything and just had to hide. The first few places I tried to hide, he would just drive through it and I had to either get out of the way or roll underneath the truck as it passed over. The level was slowly deteriorating due to all the destruction. Finally I hid under some anchored steel platform and his attempts to drive through it unsuccessfully caused his truck to slowly chip away until he was just driving a chair and wheels. Then he got out and cried in my arms.

Cool that you won at least. I can't think of anything similar I've dreamt, but I have had sortof "final-boss" type experiences, kindov, I dreamt once that me and some other people were fleeing around in a big boat, with a huge, evil, lovecraftian squidmonster chasing us from inside the walls, smashing its tentacles through, capturing our buddies, one after the others, like in a movie.
Clearly, I've often wondered what a movie would be like if the protagonist got munched up "the end!" and that is sortof what happened. The squid armes smashed through, got hold of me, and as I was dragged backwards into the dark void of a breach in the wall, I was actually sortof excited, like "Oh boy! I get to be torn apart by a squid-monster! That's not for everyone!"

In fact, in many of my death dreams (which used to be rare, but have become more common) I am unusually cocky about the situation (untill the situation blasts me in the face)

Recurring dream I have: Money. Usually I come across a large storage of rare, antique coins, and figure out they whole of them are worth several million dollars. Oh God, I'm so happy! I'll be able to buy so much... wait, it was just a dream.

The most recent time I had this dream; though, there were no coins. I was on a construction site and a talking Soda machine (???) with a eastern european accent convinced me to buy some soda. Upon inserting some american quarters, he thanked me profusely and gave me thousands of small coins. I felt really happy, then realized they're worth about .0010 USD a coin or something insanely low.

I don't have good luck with money.
