Wow DAC. I remmember that place from 1999 when it was on fallout2.net. I was posting like crazy on the F2 board there (the Mr. Set days). Good times. I also had a few fan art thingies submited there a few years ago (check it out, i;m on the first page, one of the first to submit) Glad to see that section is back up...its been down for a long time.

Also Glad to hear that the site / forums are back up again.

I think Killzig screwed up by letting Megatron have some admin control for a bit. Now he's trying to blame everything on Kreegle, as you can see from the front page at DAC. No option to say "no". That's the sign of a really big man eh? Hah...
 
Pyro, you KNOW Kreegs wouldn't have done anything if Killz hadn't been stupid and you and spaz hadn't acted a fool.

Kreegle was wrong to give out the FTP thing, and shut down DaC without talking to anyone else, but none of that would've happened without Killz's "stimulation."

So far, I've not noticed anyone else going by Ryno here. Noticed a Ryan in another forum..But I'm the only Ryno. Good to be king.

And that wouldn't have happened without a boring community and that wouldn't have happened with FO3?

At the end of it Kreegle fucked up the most so thar. We didn't break the site so no harm no foul mate.
 
DAC became a boring community? Since when? I remember a couple years back where DAC had a lot going on. So what gives?

And don't give me, "we didn't get Fallout 3" crap. Fallout 3 has come and gone a few times. That's not enough to hurt a community.
 
It wasn't that it was boring, it was just that Killzig didn't like it. Every now and then he would spaz out and do something stupid like delete the general discussion forum, or appoint people as mods who probably shouldn't have been, or even write new rules with the idea that the mods would somehow encourage more intelligent discussion to take place by locking a lot of topics. This behaviour is nothing new and frankly I'm surprised it took Kreegle this long to get really sick of it.
 
I think the straw that broke the Kreegle's back (as noted in his "My Story" post on DAC) was the fist.jpg being sent to"2200" random people (including children, parents, and people whi just wanted to know about Fallout, and had little/nothing to do with the boards).

I didn't get the mail, but I've seen the montage in The Wasteland before that forum was canned...It wasn't bad for the usual posters because most of us are immune to that stuff, but there are other people that weren't considered...My girlfriend was disgusted and I got a talking-to when she got home about the people I talk to on DAC.
 
I just opened that e-mail today. It'd been in my Junk-mail folder for a while.

I'm pretty pissed, quite frankly.

Kreegle did what he did because he was embarrassed by what you did, and rightfully so.

Imagine you made a successful site that had gained respect, and had a great base of regular posters. Then you fade out a bit, but then see your site turn to shit. Out of boredom. Sure, killz say now that it was for stimulating the boards, but that's bullshit. You guys fucking with stuff didn't make people pay attention, Kreegle shutting it down was.

Kreegs would rather shoot the dog, then have it live rabid.

Sure, he was wrong to not consult the admins before giving away the FTP, but you guys were the ones who tossed the initial turd at the fan.
 
DAC never get's referenced as a Fallout site on other sites any more (always links too NMA for fallout junk or using DAC as an example of the Fallout community). The posters there are less bothered about people and usually ignore newbies? NMA on the other hand is more 'mainstream' or whatever because you allow more spam and shit.

I think you're all blowing it out of proportion and forgetting past events. Kreegle quit last year. When you quit a job you don't go back too it a few months later. Killzig knew what was going to happen. Spazmo was an admin at the same time as me. Kreegle shut down the site.

The Fallout community was near enough dead at DAC. We hadn't got a new topic in GD in a week, and that was about goths. What a way to go eh? I'd rather shoot a dog when it starts talking about fat people than shoot a dog when it's crazy or something.

I'm sorry too those who got into trouble for fist. I just thought it'd send a mass PM but meh. I didn't even know if it showed in the e-mail as it was auto-deleted by my server. I seriously doubt children (You had to be at least 13 too join) and parents would sign up too DAC as well? I reckon I just sent it too 2000 dorks and a few others? I didn't mean for it too happen but meh. Fuck it.

I think you're just angry for being banned goose? And I don't really care what most regular NMAers think. A few of you are alright but otherwise...you're pretty boring?

It's not like he left and never came back. He still had influence, he still dropped by. It was not at all uncommon to see him in the Moderator forum helping to form the forum rules. Although Kreegle was more distanced, he was still a presence, and still a counter-weight to Killian's insanity.

Killzig knew what was going to happen. Spazmo was an admin at the same time as me. Kreegle shut down the site.

You talk about how the forums were nearly dead, but you didn't give it life, you're just going to let it rot a little longer.
 
I am willing too share the blame. But it just seems I'm getting all the shit from you? And that's 4 people involved too.

I didn't make it rot longer, more like gave it a small second chance. DAC has to improve, before nobody really gave a shit. At least now people are paying attention.
 
I don't think he needs anybody to speak up for him, but all the same it seems like everyone is being a little too harsh on megatron as far as fucking up DAC goes. He wasn't given admin status with the expectation that he was going to be a responsible member of the team and keep DAC running - he was told specifically to go nuts with the powers he was given, ban people, and make a fucking mess. Yeah, he might have a share of the responsibility, but 90% lies with Killzig and Kreegle. The email and goatse emoticons might have been over the top, but honestly, wasn't that kind of thing what Killz was expecting to happen when he started all this? And the actual shutting down of the site was done by Kreegle. Those who got the email, I can understand you being pissed at it - but as far as the larger drama goes I don't think megatron's much at fault.
