Dungeon Siege III

For the first part, it's not really a matter of discussion. Gamepad/joypad is a console controller. Joystick is that flight stick thingy for flight simulators and a few other games. Any other usage is wrong. "Controller" is general and encompasses both. End of story.

For the rest of your post, it's indeed unfortunate, but I guess it's extra work that the game devs don't care to put it. Frankly, I don't even remember last time I played a port with proper controls, or a console game with proper button re-bound feature.

Oh and Reach sucks.

Reach was an example because has like fifteen different possible button bindings, each with their own name. It seems like it'd be easier to just let you map the buttons.

Controller is also accurate and specific in some cases. Documentation refers to the xbox controller as an 'Xbox 360 Controller' making 'gamepad' or 'joypad' generalizations and inaccurate.

So? That's like the people who call every mp3 player "iPod" cause they never heard of any others. Except it's the other way round cause it's not specific enough. Heck, trackball or mouse can be called a gaming "controller" under right circumstances.

Then again, what kind of evidence is that. If Microsoft releases a gamepad named after a pony, will that have to be the official name? Logitech calls them "gamepads", rightly so.

How many hours does it take to complete the game? I read somewhere that it was just 10 hours of gameplay... If thats the case its disapointing.

The ingame-timer doesn't work correctly so internet times vary wildly.

If you spent time reading the lore/doing things ~15 hours (My first was 17 1/2 but I took my time.

The DLC adds another ~41/2 - 5 hours.

I've played 16 hours and haven't finished it yet, though I'm getting there (probably 75%). Haven't touched the DLC either. It's a decent length, and well-paced; I'm glad it doesn't outstay its welcome.

Alright. Thanks, I'll probably take a closer look at this then.

This may sound weird but DSIII is actually the game I would be looking most forward to for a possible Obsidian Sequel. (With a bigger budget of course)

The game sets up a LOT of things in its narrative and while theres not as much C&C as in other Obsidian games the changes these choices make are quite substantial.

I guess I would just like to see how well Obsidian handles the transfer of choices between games compared to Bioware who regulary disapoints in that department.

(Especially a certain choice at the end of the DLC)

In many ways, DSIII for me felt like a prequel to something really big.
