East Coast or West Coast for location and civilization?

It becomes a lot more useful when you use New Vegas Bounties and AWOP, but I use it purely to insult General Gobbledegook.

I was gonna say, that quote alone is worth the price of one perk.

Obviously the west coast. What even is the east coast? Some people on a boat in a city surrounded by monsters? Some villages made of junk? I'd take living with those elitist Vault City arseholes over ANYTHING on the east coast.

Wyoming might have been fucked in 2077, but it's probably liveable by the 2280s. Whenever I think of the Khans up in Wyoming and Idaho, I imagine them having horses, like their namesakes.

Looked it up by the way. There's a donkey mentioned in Fallout, and there were some ideas about NCR soldiers riding horses. So for those wondering, while they are up in the air, there's nothing to imply that horses have gone the way of cats.

West coast because they're actually rebuilding society and not just living in shitty metal shacks and scavenging for pre war food. Like how do people live for 200 years like that?
It's like asking the question "How the fuck did a ghoul survive 200 years in a fridge?".

MCA said that the Horses in All Roads were an accident, horses are extinct and, there's a lot of cats in FO4.

FO4 isn't canon, and the fact that horses were even considered makes me think they're still around.

We're both drawing from the same well here. Nothing's been made clear about horses yet. If cows are still about, I can see horses with two heads running around as well.

The West Coast already has something like civilization going on right now. Let's just pray that the NCR and/or Mr. House (in NV, at least) stays in power enough to keep things progressing.

The East Coast could have been interesting. Bethesda had all the chances to really ramp up the 'Murica feel to it but gave us something very lacking.

Speaking of cats how didn't those mutate? Are they immune to radiation or what? Makes no sense.
My guess is that the majority of cats that survived were in the vaults and so weren't exposed to much radiation.

When you think about it, cats have a better chance at survival in the wild than domesticated dogs do.

From my understanding, you weren't allowed to take animals into vaults, maybe a very specific 'Noah's Ark' exists somewhere in the East? It wouldn't be the most unrealistic idea for a vault.

Nor would it be the weirdest... I don't know, it could be an attempt to monitor evolutionary patterns in the wasteland.

Well there are all of those mutant hounds along with the hordes of super mutants, why not a few mutated cats? I'm not asking for all of them to be mutated just some.
WAIT...I forgot, Dogmeat was just...THERE in the wasteland with nothing wrong with him because the plot damn well demanded it.

Don't forget Cheyanne.

Don't forget Cheyanne.

Not fair at all to compare Cheyanne from NV to Dogmeat in FO4. There's quite a few groups of normal dogs and coyotes scattered throughout the Mojave. (in fact there's a sizeable group of both right next to the NCR Correctional Facility) There's lots of normal looking dogs and dog-like species still around in other words. In Fallout 4 Dogmeat is literally the only normal looking dog.

I wasn't comparing them like that at all. I meant that there are other non-mutated dogs in the wasteland.
