Editorializing Fallout 3

haha, nice commercials. they didn't say much about the game at all so I don't really get your point with posting them though.

Forhekset, I'm nearly 25 and I've heard Zelda being called the first rpg for concoles plenty of times.

what more can I say? I never said Zelda is an rpg. I doubt anyone classifies Zelda as an rpg. but a lot of people say Zelda was the first video game with rpg elements. yes, there is a difference between computer games and video games. just look at how different rpg's on both systems have been until only recently. if you're gonna argue with me on this, first stop using words like "console kids" and blame our crappy pc games on the console market.

I don't get why I'm made out to be an enemy here anyway. some people just love arguing it seems.

Wasn't "video game" a term that encompasses both console games and computer games?

well, then I guess it's a language thing. here in sweden you say either "tv-spel" or "datorspel" which I always translate into videogames or computer games.

The commercials didn't have much to do with my post, but since I brought up how Nintendo advertised Zelda, I thought some people around here would get a kick out of them. Though one of them did mention "adventure", which Nintendo uses a lot in conjunction with Zelda. Sidenote: there's a Japanese commercial for Zelda II that calls it a "role-playing game", and while the game did incorporate RPG elements such as experience, leveling up various skills and more interaction with NPCs, every other entry in the series has stuck pretty closely to the original Zelda formula. Still, if something like moneymaking is a staple of the RPG genre, then Super Mario Bros.' coin collecting makes it a RPG-lite.

I know you don't think Zelda is a RPG, I've just never actually heard anyone claim it is, either. Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not arguing for the sake of argument. Not sure who you're referring to with the whole "console kids" thing, though. I never called anyone a console kid, nor would I - I own damn near every console ever made.

Btw, I'm not a native Swede, but I've always differentiated between "video games" and "computer games", just like you. For whatever reason, "video games" to me has always meant console games.
