does liking elfquest make me gay?
theres something about it. ive browsed their websites, looking for new material, and theres no way in hell im gonna be seen alive next to another elfquest-fan, oh god, its like mildly-braindamaged-hippie-new-age-furry-dolphinlover-galore
BUT
the series is well drawn, excellent artwork, and i do like the progression of the original story. theres a commercial shift happening, where the series sells out, gets made by a panel of artists, who buttrape the whole series into oblivion, but prior to that... its actually a compelling story.
please say it doesnt make me gay
i highly appreciate the consistency of the artwork for example, a certain characters facial features will be consistent from the 1st to the 30th issue, you could recognize their heads shaved and uncolored.
theres also an underlying premise of accepting change whenever it comes, as a stark contrast to "make things go back to the way they used to be" we see many places elsewhere.
there is also much more ambiguity concerning good-vs-evil, stating clearly that it is not that simple, and that most "evils" act out of fear, a fear that is often unwarranted or based on misunderstandings. the mission then becomes to attempt to reach through to this force of evil, rather than to blindly destroy it
here's their fearless, butch and manly chief "Cutter"
i swear, im into chicks.
