Enclave vs. Brotherhood

I heard he would use his tentacles to rape women and make hideous copies of himself!
Tentacoo wape! :D
Okay, it's too much, I get it, no more tentacle rape jokes.

Actually that triggers the nuke countdown IIRC. It's the diplomat's way of killing the Master.

Wait, aren't the mutants dieing out? I mean what's the point of going to war if you're infertile?
Anyway, this whole thing sounds a bit too much FOBOS for my taste.

In FO2, you can get Marcus the Mutant and take him to New Reno to get... er... anyway, when he comes out of the brothel, he has a dialog bit where he says he hopes he didn't get her pregnant. If the Chosen One asks about the infertility thing, Marcus gives a rather funny response and says that it takes 'a few years to get the juices flowing'.

I've played the game for a zillion years and still find new bits now and again. There's a dialog bit if you meet Marcus wearing the Bridgekeeper's Robe that's also funny.

Also the Robes found in New Reno.

Or no armour at all.

There was a discussion about this at BIS forum boards (when they were still alive ofcours)

They agreed on several things - Enclave was technologically clearly superior, let's see:

Brotherhood of Steel - Enclave of United States of America

T-51b Power Armor, hardened at best + Combat Armors - T72 (I like the Enclave sourcebook) Advanced Power Armor, T51b and Combat Armors
Land based vehicles (assumption) - Vertibirds
Mostly weapons scavenged and made by scribes - Access to stores with advanced pre-war weaponry (mostly old, but high quality), notice the Plasmas, Pulses and Gausses around.
Very little defence turrets - bases protected by laser and gun turrets
Databases composed of scavenged info (assump.) - complete database of preWar knowledge (assump.)

On the other hand...

Experienced, battle forged veterans and a knowledge of the wastes - Isolation on the Oil Rig causes them to be rookies when fighting on the mainland, and they have none battle experience, only Navarro personnel does really

So, we might assume that if a War would errupt between the Brotherhood and the Enclave, Paladins would have the benefit of knowing the wastes well, and having the support of the locals.
Enclave, despite their technology and all, would be rendered helpless, and their morale broken upon entering the first destroyed city.

Much like the situation during the USA's Independence War.

And after the first fight won by the Brothers... well... let me recall the myth of the 'indestructible' armored monster, the Mi-24 Hind, and Afghanistan...

This reminds me of a discussion about the M16 and the AK-47,
which one is better.

Well, both are tools for killing and get their job well, so most
is up to the ones using them.

You can't discount the experience of the Paladins when fighting against superior, yet "green" Enclave troopers.

Not to mention the motivation factor: The Enclave soldiers are fighting for a President that is clearly corrupt and probably not legally elected, and a nation that has been dead for a century.

The BoS is fighting for themselves, for survival, and for their ideals. Much stronger motivation, clearly.

...dead for some 40 years now.

Frank Horrigan, despite being a 3 metre tall, armored, 999 HP killing machine is the only one out there. I doubt he would survive an attack of a paladin assault squad, burning HK L30s at him. The armor he wears is a stronger version of the power armor, not some miraculous super protection suit. Sure, he wiped out Vault 13 and killed Matt, but still, deathclaws pose little threat against him and Matt doesnt even hurt him.

I think the Enclave knew, that if a war was to be waged against the mainland, they would have no chance of winning. That's why they didnt want to draw attention to them (notice that you only find traces of their activity around? The onl places you acctually meet them in person, is the Navarro, vertibird trading spot and the execution site...)
And why they planned to use FEV to cleanse the lands. It would need little effort and supplies to perform the genocide...

True he was there earlier. Maybe he trained some
promising students. A good trainer also brings up more to the
rookies. Maybe the brotherhood should have turned him into
a supermutant. He may had been sterile, but would also have
a larger life-span.

Anyway that Frank Horrigan (LOL Frank Harrigan - Predator 2) is
actually smashed in one turn, thanks to 3 bursts/crits with the
Vindicator (300+ damage per burst, best burst so far dealt 437 damage to Frankie).
I wonder if he was a supermutant himself.
A supermutant, wearing Power Armor, really nasty!
Nethertheless it is questionable if one man/mutie even with his
abilities could turn the tables so drastically in a battle.

The first time I saw Frank Horrigan in that farmer encounter, I thought.. HOLY SHIT! A PREDATOR IN FO2! But when I checked his description it said a large super mutant in powered armor.

He does look like one, does he not?:

That also came to my mind. Also he seemed to be different from typical supermutants.
He is far larger than them and is not stubbed and crooked like the other supermutants.
Compare Frank with Marcus, there is a huge difference.
The dual barrel gun mounted on his forearm also reminded
me of the Predator's "dual blades".
Maybe he was some kind of "Hyper-Mutant" with alien-DNA
in his blood.

Thanks! Did not know there was a bible. Hope it is not
completly written by fans, though!

Try not at all. The Bible is the work of MCA. While not exactly a "Fallout developer", he did work on one town in Fallout 2, which I suppose makes him an authority.

I'm sorry, was I being sarcastic?
