Even Canada hates us...

When a group of people like that revile you you can be sure you are doing something right.

Fuck them, I wear their scorn as a badge of honor. Let them wallow in mediocre games and their own slack-jawed sheep mentality.

I just found this site - where have you been all my life... well at least the bits since Fallout 2

so.. lets make it 12

*dances*

*sigh*

Rob_Merrit is a weird case, he keeps talking about beeing banned here but i honestly never saw a creature with that nick, and i wasted alot of time searching for it.

The Andrew Mayer guy that posts there was the PR for Bioware until a couple of years ago, he's free lancing now, doing PR for The Witcher.

Overall they are just teens and Beth and Bio fanboys, so don't care much what they say.

I was thinking about this last night. The sad part about it is, Beth could make a first person post apocalyptic game that is a big commercial success. The downside is I can see them raping the Fallout name in the process yet to those people, it will come across as a "I told you Bethesda would do a good job with it, all your complaints were for nothing."

Sigh, is everything the Fallout name means worth the cost of continuing the series?

The game is rated 3.55 (out of 5) after eleven votes. Are those eleven half-satisfied gamers from the future and the eleven angry NMA guys one and the same ?

One thing is sure though, angry or not those dudes have a time traveling machine or something.

Future shop indeed !

It was me!

Mea culpa my friends... I wrote that copy.

Long time lurker, first time poster. The one thing I've noticed is that the folks here at NMA have a decent sense of humour... some of the time. I thought that a fun reference to what one of the devs said a while back might give you all a chuckle - what with the tongue-in-cheek nature of Fallout.

If I've offended, I apologize. To the young gentleman from Rhode Island who already sent me a complaint, you need to lighten up dude. It's a game that we all love. No matter what your opinion of Fallout 3 is it's not worth bursting a vessel over.

Finally - in regards to the release date - it's an approximation. We've been given a rough time frame from the vendor and we're using it for pre-orders. A little like what EB does, but we're doing it online only.

I hope you got a laugh out of the post - it was meant with the best of intentions. If you didn't, please accept my humble apology.

Ok this is a first...

So what do the 5339 members have to say (not counting those lost in the first move) ?

Ehehehe, I laughed at it. As apparently most did. The problem is that a lot of people view as as nazi-dictators who are wrong about everything and ban people for just disagreeing. Which is not what we do at all, we do listen to what people have to say, as long as it's well-founded, and we have formed our opinions reasonably over the past years. Our harsh methods aren't appreciated, so we're all branded as evil and stupid aliens.
So, in light of this, when we get a response like that, there's bound to be some hostility, especially because there's often no telling whether it's serious or not (as you can see from those forum links Kotario posted).

Someone sent you hate-mail for mentioning Fallout and NMA in the way you did?
Dayumn.

Hmm, it's a bit bad practice, though. Games get cancelled quite often and almost always get postponed.
Ah well.

I say: let's cool down.
We've got plenty of time to vivisect the game when it's out, if it's the case. I haven't checked all the links in this thread, but Paperbackwriter sounds like a decent guy... Let's give him a chance. No apologies needed, IMHO.
Cheers, folks.

I forgive you paperbackwriter. But what you forgot to mention was the other eight angry Fallout fans over at DAC (Duck and Cover) which makes allot more than 11 fans.

I was going to mention DAC as well, but the thought of emails full of thousands of smileys deterred me.

Dude, no need to apologise, I thought it was pretty funny.

However, those guys at that random forum seem to seriously hate NMA, for no apparent reason, which makes Phineas Gage angry.

It wasn't the vendor post that annoyed me, I found it somewhat amusing. What bothered me (and from reactions, it seems like it annoyed a few other people) were the links Kotario posted.

Exactly.

Arrggg, those bastards have the audacity to use Van Buren pictures to represent FO3 - what better way to rub it in our faces. Although, the last one was the FO2 PA + Tactics PA with an MS Paint sign saying "Even more power armour!". Pfff, this site really is grasping at straws.

Nick Walter-some guy at quarter to something said:
I have reversed my stance on micropayments and now wish to see them heavily implemented in the new fallout game. I want $2 dollar fees for outfits, weapons, levels, etc. Hell, I want to see the opportunity to use micropayments during character creation. I want the option to spend $2 for extra perks or skills.

I want all of this because it will be so totally worth it just to watch the explosion of enraged idiocy on the NMA forums.

This kind of attitude just makes me scared, sick and ashamed to call myself a gamer - you buy a game and it should be all there, i truely will cry if beth's FO3 has hordes of bugs in, which is almost a certainty. So long the good old days.
