Any reason behind having to install the original game manually?
If I try to use the autoinstaller or setup from the CD it hangs before the install is completed, resulting in a failed installation. If I copy files manually, everything works fine. I didn't think it was worth mentioning as the workaround worked so well.

Some might install manually because XP/Vista refuses to allow the auto-run install. The trick to this is to just Explore the CD folder and run the Setup.

Also, the issues I'm having are noticeable graphical in nature.

I got english xp with sp3 and installer runs fine dont need to trick setup it was running like a charm with sp2 1-2 month ago and year earlier with sp1...question is if those people got orginal copies? :)

About graphical issues LOL i only got 2 small bugs if i change resolution to 800x600 and thats not even Killap fault...

Killap for President :)

I take it you are running XP or Vista?

Just a thought, but could the installer you use check to see if the above is true before an install can occur? If so then I would suggest that (and i know this will piss some people off) you only let the Restoration Project be installed on a clean humongous original install, with the only other check to see if the Official Patch has been applied.

I also suggest removing the extra mods being available through the Restoration Project installer and maybe start another thread that contains links and work pertaining to other mods that you want to support and maintain compatibility with your Restoration Project and/or Unofficial Patch.

This should also reduce some confusion over bugs, of course this will not prevent munchkins from not reading and continuing to do their own idiotic things.

Edit:
Have you silently updated the Restoration Project with the files listed for seperate download in post 1 and/or removed all the FO1 sound files? Not that I have checked but this might also help to reduce munchkin bug reports. ;)

Okay, about the crashes... I've had them. But i've added the latest ddraw fix available on killap's site. And the game improved a lot. No more 100% usage of CPU, the crashes became almost scarce and the game runs a lot better on newer systems(I have a dual core CPU - Intel E6850).
killap, can you take a look at the scripts of Valerie and Skeeter? They never recognize that I have the FN FAL on me, so I can't put a night scope on that weapon. The rest of weapons are recognized and can be upgraded.

Bug Report:
Had Sniper Rifle equipped. Moved to place back in inventory. Sniper Rifle disappeared.

Edit: Seems to affect any gun now. Might be because the game is spazzing due to NPCs being overloaded, which seems to happen randomly and cause a lot of problems.

Legit game, fresh, fully updated for this mod.

Straight CD install with the mod laid on it.
Is FO2 unpatched and untranslated on the CD? There are several reports of problems with pre-patched/translated versions. What OS are you running?

Have you installed all the fixes for Expansion 1.1? Some are OS dependent.

I've had ZERO crashes so far, so your 30/day sounds like something's wrong. (But then again, since I forgot about the shove command and had to shoot my NPCs in the head to get them out of the way, I never reached a high amount of NPCs.)

I totally second this proposal. A problem might be that the installer itself is updated less often than the fixes though...

EDIT: Since the Expansion obviously doesn't work with German and/or pre-patched FO2, it should probably check for that as well until all the problems are ironed out, right?

Isn't there a known "too many items" bug in the engine? Is that relevant here?

Umm forgot for people who got crashes prodobly dual or quad core well there is solution.

1.Launch game and when your in menu
2.Ctrl+Alt+Del
3.Applications select Fallout II right click and select Go To Process
4.Your redirected to Processes exactly Fallout2.exe
5.Again right click and Set Affinity...
6.If you got dual or quad cpu leave only 1 core for Fallout2.exe

Why? most older games had crashes like prodobly it helped for fev games and for great game System Shock 2 :)

Ok i hope it will help any way question to ppl who got crashes, errors you got multi or single cpu?

I just got to the EPA after not playing for a while -- anyway, are there supposed to be two locked doors in the main area that are unlockpickable and that I'm unable to blow up with explosives? I can only enter the building with the power generator and broken elevator.

holyshoot13 : as far as I know, but you can get keys to them later (did not find anything from SE one with the car tough).

Bugs (My system is WinXP SP2, C2D E6750, 2 GB Ram, Radeon X1950 Pro. Clean install FO2, 1.1+Children+Cassidy Head+fixes added as they come.):

In Arroyo I got empty desert maps randomly added to bibboy's Arroyo entry. Clicking some of them crashed the game.

Talking to merchant next to Abbey's water bump gave me two 'here you go' answer options when you return with parts.

There was two Karls when I returned to Modok after telling him he could come back.

Discount at renescos pharmacy did not work (did not get discount I mean).

When getting the Botany info I get error message when I download it (I do get the holodisk tough) and when I deliver it the second dialog option is also an 'error'.

Oh, and is it supposed to make town hostile if I kill the mutated rat in Gecko (either attacking it my self or it attacking me).

Also is there no 'good' ending for gecko (other than sort of good with just repairing and not optimising the plant as the I thought I read somewhere that ghouls will die out in 20 years without VC's medical tech or something (might have been lied to or might remember wrong)) or Broken Hills (racial hate breaks loose, you blow the mine, uranium runs out).

Couple typos in abbey leaders dialog :

Do you (know) anything about the the original founders?

After the Great War, our ancestors came and founded <- shouldn't it be found as they found the place not build it

edit : question about EPA seed : does anyone or anything in game suggest planting the seed in arroyo? Also does it ever grow (I waited a week) or is it just for the small 100xp reward?

Also, is there gas mask somewhere in EPA that I just did not find or is the biowarfaresuit supposed to protect me in the contaminated areas (neither it nor Adv. PA protected me which seemed wrong). Also is the 3rd level password different than used in upper levels as there are few doors I don't have PW for?

killap, maybe this should be stated in readme and in installer's agreement window? I think it could (and should) help to reduce number of crashes ...

Killap, i found an big bug in San Fran:

In Vertibird plans quest, when i give the plans to Matt, the game Freeze always (reload don't help) and i never can complete the mission!

I can send the save if you want.

You can use found when speaking of setting up an institution without necessarily creating any physical structures.

You should be able to find the gas mask in the warehouse area. I do not see a problem with power armor protecting you from gas since it looks completely sealed.

Maybe you misinterpreted. Petrell says that neither Bio Warfare Suit nor Advanced Power Armor offered protection from gas.

Regarding the crashes: Everyody, I've been having combat crashes even BEFORE I installed the restoration project, so it is not related to the MOD!

I probably should have quoted entire dialog but what I meant was that, at least to me, the sentence was meant to imply that they went to place and discovered the church there. Doesn't 'founded' mean they estalished something there (like they founded their order).

I'll have to see if I have still have save before talking to him (with the 10 slots not very likely).

Odd, I could have sworn I searched the surface warehouse (do you mean that?) and all other equipment rooms I have access to.

The problem with Adv. Power Armour and Biowarfare suit is that neither protects me in the contaminated areas as I'd expect so I get poisoned and killed pretty quickly wearing one or another (with my 300hp no less :P ). That seems totally wrong to me as they both, as you say, should be sealed. (Adv. PA for example protects you in Broken Hills mine).

Great mod, however, (sorry if this was stated before, but going thru so many pages..), there are some bugs/annoyances that should be looked into.

1.) when your character has no ammo and relies on melee, and some of the enemies decide to retreat, they usually go outside the map and stay there until u get out of range, and turn off combat mode. Then they go back and the combat mode is instantly reinitialized, but the enemy still decides to run, so again he runs off the map and the same problem, so basically, in regular F2, they run off the map and they never come back, and that's good because they don't cause combat mode to go crazy and the fight is basically over, but now it's impossible to kill them like that. You should either let them leave the battlefield for good, otherwise I have to retreat simply because I cannot catch up with an enemy who always runs off.
2.) The Spear at Arroyo, it didn't crash for me, but when I got that flint from aunt by persuading her, all I got was this weird question mark symbol in my inventory and it didn't count as if I had the flint thus the bridge guard didn't make me the enchanced spear.
3.) Equipping Sulik with armor sometimes doesn't show on him. You have to take the armor from his inventory, and plant it on him again, then make him wear it so it shows up on him. (minor glitch, wouldn't give it much fixing priority tho)
4.) Quest within Den with the ghost doesn't seem to work at all? Maybe it was replaced or moved or something, but I can't seem to find a location to do it, as the ghost doesn't appear at midnight. Or maybe I am just looking at bad location?
5.) Encounter rates, any way to let the player adjust that? They are insane I think, I think it's great when I am doing leveling runs, but not when I wanna pass from one city to another and get bored to death because I have 20 encounters along the way with always the same enemy types, besides everything the thing described at 1.) makes it even worse.

That's all the feedback for now, since I barely started re-playing F2 with Restoration, that's all I can report right now.

Sounds as you're missing graphics. (and more because the item is not registered as flint).

B-Team mod problem. Also note that installing it and cassidy talking head means no armour shows on cassidy.

look under the bookshelf...

Have you installed the quick fixes in first post of this thread? There's one that exactly deals with this problem. Also a flint fix that might or might not have helped with your flint problem.

Also what version are you running and did you install the expansion on unpatched FO2?
