I'm playing through it now and...

Damn, Bear Dude, your writing skills match the ones of the makers of Fallout... I'm currently in the Abbey and...

Dude.

Just.

Dude.

Awesome.

One point, though... the music, who did it? Or was it already in the game?

There's a small typo there: It's Operations Manual, not Operationas.

I just found EPA, but the map is black. :?

I have read that the mod only works with unpatched Fallout2. Is that true? Then these newer cheap versions which are already patched won't work.

AFAIR there is a way to work around that Bunkermensch. You should try to delete the PATCH000.DAT file before trying to install the expansion.

If deleting patch000.dat doesn't work, try a minimal installation (to an empty directory) instead of a humongous. And remember to download all the fixes unless you did it after 27-Jan-2008 23:21.

hi just wondering if there's an option for widescreen to add a letter box on the side, so that fallout won't be distorted, just got a new monitor, and everything looks fat,

I don't know if I should post it here, I apologize in advance if I made an error

2 more bugs, in NCR and New Reno:

* When i use Super Stimpack to kill Westin, the game crash.

* When i make sex with Mrs. Bishop or Angela Bishop, and Bishop talk with me, see what he say:

Timeslip at FO2 Engine Tweaks thread is probably the guy to ask as he's the one who created sfall used in this project and is more knowleable in this field. I don't know about fullscreen but sfall allows FO2 to be run in windowed mode so you could try how that works for you (check your ddraw.ini in your fallout2 folder). Stretching distortion was the main reason I bought 4:3 TFT instead of widescreen in the first place.

When I tried rescaling/streching using the ddraw.dll tweaks, the game became unplayably sluggish. Your milage hopefully varies...

;Set to 0 for 8 bit fullscreen

;Set to 2 for 16 bit fullscreen

;Set to 5 for dx9 windowed

I tired Mode=5 and a little window appeared for Fallout 2. But it is so weird. I kept trying to get back to my desktop and do things.

I have decided to fall back to playing it in my VM. Maybe this weekend, I will setup a WinXP VM.

How do I get to Vault Village? I haven't really looked but I saw it mentioned in the readme and I assumed it would be a new Vault City map.

Wrong thread, answered on previous page, etc.

There are some problems with the end of the game. When you get the "resume" what's happened with towns/people etc. some skip instantly, i.e. Marcus

Hi, looks like I've encountered the same problem with Primitive Tribe as some reported earlier - every time I try to enter the village (no matter how), the game is loading for a while and then crashes back to Windows with no message.
Clean F2 v1.00 (homogeneous) + Restoration 1.1 (installer) + all the additional fixes, running on W98SE. From what I've read here it seems this problem only shows up on W98 :-\

oops. Went to gecko, talked to harold about the plant, then went and talked to the brain. Yes, he thinks I fixed the plant etc

but when I get back to McClure to get the part, he also thinks I fixed the plant, and I sort of finish the quest.

This happens to me when I have Sound Hardware Acceleration (or something) activated in XP.

It is a XP/Fallout 2 problem, has nothing to do with the restoration project, but there is a fix.

Try Start -> run ->dxdiag -> Sound tab and pull the slider all the way to the left.

Restart computer, try dying. (in Fallout)

If the sound works in the little death screen thing, it works in the end movies too, at least for me :)

EPA:

Alright, now I'm pissed off. Where the hell is my Gauss Gatling gun? Razz

If you bring Myron to EPA. Then talk to the doctor about jet/introduce him to Myron. He gets so exited he gives you a Gauss Gatling Gun, or so he says. Problem is you never do.

Is this something not quite finished or something not properly removed?
I personally don't think the GGG belongs in Fallout 2.

Also, I have been able to open every door there, except the one to the garden. Is this a bug or have I missed something?

Cheers

I think it's a Win98SE problem. Because using the same save game, I am able to play in WinXP. I finished that part and took the save game back to Win98 without any problem so far.
