The past few fixes have mostly been about crashes,
Forget to say that mine was a complete new installation of OS, FO2, FO2 expansion & all the fix.
Win98? I think most testing was done on XP. Could you make a savegame available for us? Or if you can't, just mail it to Killap (see first post for address) with full information about your system and FO2.

EDIT: "all the fix" are updated silently sometimes. What you need is "Windows_95-98-ME.rar 27-Jan-2008 23:21 474K" (not sure about the timezone; maybe it's mine (GMT+1)). If you installed "all the fix" before this time, you don't have the latest fixes. The file was actually updated twice on this date.

I have to check if I kept the save game.

Let me try this patch. I didn't realise there was a new one out.
Thanks.

You have to read all posts by Killap in this thread to know (or monitor the "fixes" directory automatically, like I do), so I don't blame you. When Killap releases the next version of the Expansion (v1.2) there hopefully will be no more need for fixes. (According to his previous posts in this thread)

EDIT: Just out of curiosity, why 98 in VM on XP? FO2 runs on XP NP.

Ok, I have a few bugs/ questions:

1. I am unable to get the "kill rat god" quest from Slim Picket if I've already gotten the key from the dog. If I drop the key, it all works fine. Need to change when in dialog quest is given.

2.Vault City quest "Get weapon for Connar to be used at the nearby village." doesn't get crossed out, when you solve it peacefully and get to keep the money.

3. Can't finish NCR Ranger's 2nd quest.
That slave camp is a weird place. Sometimes the doors won't open, sometimes the slaves will not leave, even though the doors are open, and once I had two "Sulik's sister"( one in tribal area and one in slave camp, was that not supposed to be fixed in vers.1.1? ). Exit and re-enter the map seems to fix all of that.

4. Is the heart pills supposed to "cure" Casidy? Cause it isn't working.

from VCCasidy.msg
#added by killap - expansion
{30000}{}{Ah, that actually feels good. I feel like I can handle things much better now.}
{30001}{}{Wow, this feels different. Those heart pills must working.}

5. Fannie Mae in Redding. Was she really supposed to disappear when you give her money? I thought it was just a sob-story to get money for more jet. Now I can't cure her jet addiction anymore. Would be better if you make her to leave only after you cure her.

Cheers

same for me

And hopefully I don't have to start all over again. :)

Ok, I installed FO2 + expansion + latest fixes onto my WinXP physical machine. And then I took the savegame from the Win98 VM. IT WORKED! I am running around & helping the tribe now.

Once I solved the tribes and slavers camp, I will try & revert to my Win98 VM & play.

I know. But I wanted to run it in a windows mode. Playing 640x480 on a 20" widescreen monitor hurts my eyes.

Killap's Expansions includes modifications that allow you to play in a "window" by changing settings in ddraw.ini:
ddraw.ini said:
[Graphics]
;Set to 0 for 8 bit fullscreen
;Set to 1 for 8 bit windowed
;Set to 2 for 16 bit fullscreen
;Set to 3 for 16 bit windowed
;Set to 4 for dx9 fullscreen
;Set to 5 for dx9 windowed
This isn't documented in the Expansion AFAIK, but there was some talk about it in either this thread or the corresponding Expansion 1.0 thread. Perhaps you could try it and see if it does what you want.

Actually, if you give Fannie too much money in one sitting, she will go out and OD on jet. I think Lou has new dialogue regarding this. This should only happen if you give large sums of money (ie sleep with her several time in one session)

As for the cassidy pills, if he has taken them, then using drugs like jet, psycho, or others that would normally kill him won't anyway. I will have to double check that this is working.

Oh, yeah I just saw Lou's new text. My bad...

How does he "take" them? I thought you just put them in his inventory.

thanks

ps. Did you spot the typo? {30001}{}{Wow, this feels different. Those heart pills must working.}

You will have to physically use them on him. Having him do it by himself is out of my scope.

EDIT: Yeah, I made note of the typo. Thanks for spotting that.

That's a shame.

How to "physically" use them on him?

I put pills in item slot, use on Cassidy, get a "That does nothing." message. Same thing trying from the backpack icon or using it myself.

cheers

Can't it be made so that as long as cassidy has them in his inventory, no heart problems arise?

I had a weird experience of having my group teleported to Southeast of the Den.
This was reported before. I need to dig up the other posts regarding this and see if there is anything in common. This occurred after a encounter, right? Was it a Kaga encounter.

Happened only once but I don't think it was a Kaga encounter.

Happened to me a few times. Normally around the Primitive Village when you get into an encounter. Exiting it, you end up teleported, or more likely, it drops you at some default location due to a failure to return you to your previous spot.

Oh NOW I know what you mean! Yes, that happens to me the first time I leave Primitive Village. Rather inconvienient, am I the only one who thinks that maybe the encounter ratio has gone up a little TOO high? I once encountered 4 things in the same square.

And this is more of a gameplay request, but could you make it so Smitty is able to install the Fuel Cell regulator from the Klamath Highwayman AFTER you've already bought the car?

Ok, I will try the settings tonight when I get back.
Thanks.

You know you can change all these setting right?

Of course... I was just testing you... it's not like I'm THAT stupid...

It is hidden, to reveal it, you must get it as a mission from Sgt Stark in Vault City.
