Skynet is really not supposed to get any bonuses from sex - I don't think he can have sex - what's the point to create a robot with p***s, if he can't make anyone pregnant (it isn't noted anywhere he can)!? And, therefore, it's pointless for him to have an instinct (feelings come from instincts) for this. I actually doubt robots can feel anything at all.

And, he haven't got hormones, the New Reno bonuses are based on the way someone's organism reacts on this. It is obviously really illogical.

Nobody really knows how Monument Chunk works. But, judging from how the game reacts, it should not work on Skynet. We don't even know what happens to it when the player uses it (he ate it?). Really, if they wanted to make it usable on Skynet, they should have done it. And, anyway, the time wasted on talking about this could be more useful for finding/fixing some obvious issue (like a game crash)

By the way, Killap, please see the unofficial patch thread and fix the Shiv. And maybe change the description (except if you intend on making it really undetectable, in that case - nevermind).

I said ""Bonus +1" items", not "strength boost". Can you get the dif? There are also Bonus +1 AG and Bonus +1 IN. The player says "Can one of your girls read the dictionary to Robo Brain? It stimulates his brain center". Obviously, strength can't be increased by that, but I see no reason why agility can't.

 

Timeslip has added a fix for the Shiv into sfall (v1.43 beta).

killap has always said he includes the latest version of sfall with his patches, so when he releases RP 1.3 the version of sfall included should give you the option to turn on the fix (using the ddraw.ini file).

To be honest I see the same problem with agility, it's mechanical. So unless having sex equals getting serviced (getting an oil change and cleaned up some gears, some fine tuning...) I don't understand how Skynet could gain temporary stat boosts.

Not necessarily. Agility depends not only on how fast he can move his limbs, but also on how fast his brain reacts to the situation change, don't you agree?

 

I am experiencing my game crashing every time I try to leave EPA, or more precisely when I try to take any of the two elevators from the sub levels (1-3) to the utility level or when I try to go from the map with the warehouse and the doctor to the main one. The only thing I noticed before this happened was I tried to take my car to the EPA map and when I got there my car was not there but was able to fix that by loading my game and trying again, in addition I was trying leave my car behind but every time I would leave the (city) map it would have me in my car. I don’t know if this is related at all.

 

Killap, any time frame ur willing to give? Or should I ask - by your current estimates, will RP be out by the end of April?

 

UPDATE: I have finally managed to get the game to reproduce the error (once again, in the Den, this time while talking with Tyler to get into the church).

It seems quests with Lara and Tyler in the Den are most likely to provoke this crash.

EDIT: Doing other things in the Den can provoke this crash as well, though they have different number/letter codes (hexadecimal I assume?). Doing the "let the Den kids pickpocket live explosives from you" provoked a crash, it seems. The Den is the only place I am encountering these kinds of crashes.

 

I downloaded it and installed it, I try loading my game (I'm standing beside Cassidy) and it crashes. Why?

 

See above. So you didn't start a new game? and used an old save game?

He can't just "make a version that is compatible". There are certain files that, if changed, require a new game to be started. No way around that, except to not fix/change/add content.

 

Uninstalling it should makes those old saved games work, right?

 

Not necessarily. I don't know if it was patched. But, I'll put it this way:

Putting the game folder back the same way it was before the RP is applied will allow the saved games to work.

I heard from a very reliable source that the release should be around same time as the release of Duke Nukem Forever.

It's being beta tested right now. I'd be willing to bet everyone will be enjoying it by summer.
