- At the Slaver's Camp, if a slaver runs out of the map, you can't notify Sulik's sister that the slavers are dead, and the quest is ruined. Dunno if it's fixable or if it's an engine bug. Maybe change the slaver's script so that they never flee.

- The whole Torr questline seems bugged... foremost, in the map where the player guards Torr's brahmin, when I ask the Duntons for a job they have been saying "get the hell out of here" throughout all of the times I have tried to get them to answer different (since level 2, I'm at level 15). Since my only option is to kill the scorpions, I do so. After talking to Torr and leaving the map, I get "you failed to help Torr". How come? After that, when I confront the duntons with the Bugmen outfit, quest number 5 does not get crossed from the Pipboy, even though I get the XP.

- The "old man with a crazy gleam in his eye" remains in Vault City and triggers the weapons quest even after you solve the whole ordeal in a pacific manner.

@ MarkD

Klamath:
You can't work for the Dunton brothers if your town rep is too high.
I think you can if you beat one of them in arm wrestling, but from the brahmin map you cannot.

"you failed to help Torr"
I've been trying to look into this a bit, and from what I can tell this happens if you have entered the eastern part of the Den, before doing Torr's quest. I recommend doing that quest the first time you are in Klamath.

"Bugmen outfit"
Finding the limbs and confronting the Duntons are only half of the quest, you need to find more evidence.

cheers

I'm working through the bug lists and have the following questions/observations.

Unconfirmed: Vault Village Quest - After successfully completing the village quest (in my case, diplomatically preventing a Vault City attack), their leader still has the quest-completion conversation (that is, you telling him about managing to prevent the attack) - even after he's already heard this from you.
I am not really sure what happened here. According to the save game sent to me, the current setting for the variable is that you have not told him about the agreement. Can someone (Golan2072 or others) please try and reproduce this?

Failing the Torr brahmin quest when you do everything correctly.
This is a strange one. I'm not sure how entering the Den is connected to this, but the reason this is failing (according to the save game sent to me) is because the global variable that handles how many of Torr's brahmin were killed has increased past 0. Okay, perhaps a brahmiin died. The variable claims there were over 300 of Torr's brahmin killed. Wait, Torr only has 4 brahmin...wtf. I have no idea why the variable has increased to such a large number, but I added a hack in the event of this happening. If the variable is larger than 4 (it cannot be since Torr only has 4 brahmin) the variable will be reset to 0.

Unconfirmed: New Reno Arms Supply - I became a made man for the Wright family and I'm supposed to get "special stock" at the New Reno Arms, but when I ask for the special stock the dude has no items available.
I really could use a save game here. Or at least someone else confirming this.

I'll post again when I have more to discuss.

First off, awesome mod Killapp, after I saw this little beaut, I've restarted playing almighty FALLOUT!!!
Makes me remember how much I like old graphics like this much better than full 3d environments of the crap today. :P

Anyway, I've got a wee bit of a problem on my end.
I'm running the Fallout 2 that comes on a DVD (with FO1 and FoT). My install order goes like this, the Unofficial Patch, the "ALL" folder from the weapons mod, and then the Restoration Project.

Now, I also did a Humongous install for FO2 and I'm running Win XP SP2, nothing else I know of that could interfere with the game is running.

Here's my problem, I'll be playing for a while and this is random mind you, doesn't happen too often but it's pretty annoying. My game crashes, it just stops, goes to a black screen, I alt+tab and it shows another little pop-up saying FO2 has had an error, etc etc.

I'd supply a savegame but I don't think it'd be useful as I couldn't replicate it on the saves, as I said, it happens randomly.

Next time it pops up, I'll try to remember to take a screenshot if it'd help.

Thanks for the kind words.

If you are using the weapons redone mod, then make sure you don't select the ammo mod fix in the RP installer. They don't work well together. I don't believe this would be the cause of your crashing though, but it is a start I guess. The fact that it is random makes it hard to pinpoint, but let me know if you can confirm something.

Thanks.

This bug is present in the unofficial patch as well but not in 1.02d.
It only happens in the Den Business area 2, the rest of he Den is safe. I am damned curious about this one. What happens when you step into that map? Does it trigger some global_var that is confusing the brahmin count? (Is that even possible?)
Nice you got it fixed with the hack, but if you ever find out the reason, please do tell. :)

About New Reno Arms Supply, what I've seen sometimes there are two weapons, sometimes only one. Is it not possible, that sometimes he is out of stock, without it being a bug? Just have to wait until he restocks?

Problem is I really have no idea. I did a grep search through every source file and the only place where that variable changes is in the brahmin script when one is killed. It is distressing to hear that it isn't present in the official patch and only my work. What the heck did I do...?

You shouldn't be installing the Unofficial patch, because that is already included in the Restoration Project.

I'd suggest this install order:

FO2 (humongous) - Killap's Restoration Project (make sure not to select or turn on the AP fix, for, as Killap said, it doesn't work with the Weapons Redone mod) - Magnus' Weapons Redone (now version 1.6)

Sorry, I just installed the 1.02d patch to double-check, The bug is there as well, so it's none of your doing. I could have sworn it didn't fail yesterday when I tried. Sorry again.

Ok, good to know it is present everywhere. And you are always able to confirm this by going to Den? That is so strange. Nothing is changed there (as far as I can tell) that could alter the global var associated with Torr's brahmin.

Strange indeed. I have never seen this before, but I always finish up in Klamath first before moving on. This time I went straight to the Den to check something to do with Metzger for the guide. I read that someone had encountered the bug so I used that save to check it out, got the bug, and then backtracked to find where it started. I've probably tried it 40+ times, and as long as I don't enter the 2nd business area the bug hasn't hit. When I did enter it I think there was only one time the bug didn't hit, I killed Metzger, but I wasn't able to reproduce it.

I have a link to a save in The Den two pages back if you have time and wanna give it a go. Leave right away to Klamath and the bug shouldn't hit, and then try to run through the eastern part of the Den, without doing anything there, go to Klamath, and the bug should hit.

Thx Killap for the mod/patch great work...The game crashes when I enter vault 15. This is the message I get. I'm currently using 1.2 however I had the same issue with the previous version. I started a new game once the 1.2 version came out.

Any clue what is the issue? Is it the RP?

@Killap

Did you check out my report at page 15?

Possible bug: even though I finished the "Chad skimming" quest in Broken Hills, he still came along on the caravan to NCR :?
He does not react to any attempts at talking to him, not even a piece of floating text, but he did take part in fighting off the radscorpions who ambushed us.

Considering what Marcus says when you complete that quest, I don't think Chad should be in any more caravans. Sounds reasonable?

Edit: I should also clarify that the lack of reaction to attempts at communication occurs after one has ended caravan battles but not yet left the screen. When we had arrived in NCR he was simply mad at me and told me to leave him alone, or something similar.

Yes, and thank you. It was something I overlooked when I wrote the skimming quest. It is now fixed (but unreleased).

@BluTGI
Provide me with a savegame if you could. Also, what OS are you running?

The special stock bug in new reno happened to me alot in version 1.1. If I remember correctly, I had encountered it in two separate games, once as a made man of the Wrights, and once with the Bishops.

Very well. A save game from someone would also be nice.

None of my party members are really leveling up even though they claim they are. I'm pretty sure this is related to the NPC Armor mod bundled with the RP, so maybe this should be merged with the RP Tech thread.

Killap, did you get my e-mails with the Vault Village dialogue problem and the Hubologist exit freeze saved games? I've sent them to the address you gave in the RP's readme file.

Other than that, I'm near the end of the game, and this mod has made the game much better and much fuller than the original - and, of course, has added an enormous replay value for me (new locations to explore!). My favorite parts are the EPA (ultra-cool, adds several hours of fun gameplay), rescuing Sulik's sister (I've been waiting to do this for years) and the NPC armor mod (very, very cool and adds a bit of realism to the game - actually seeing Sulik in Power Armor when he's wearing one was a delight!).

Yes. I am still looking into them though. Thanks for sending them.

Did you have problems with the NPCs leveling? It was reported that they are not leveling properly with the mod.
