Did any of you had any problems repairing the voice computer? I got the quest, but i can' t fix the computer by using repair or science, am i doing something wrong? The computer is the one with the "beep" and "boop" sounds, right? I posted it here, since I am not sure if it is a bug or a change from the previous version...
On the previous page I said:
You need to have a repair skill of at least 76% to be able to repair it. There is a small bug here in that if your skill is less than 76 but over 50, you get no message saying "You do not have the ability to fix this machine".

Sorry, It is my fault for not being clear. I am talking about the quest you get from the hologram wearing a power armor, I have 83% in repair and 103% in science, when i got to the console I run the diagnostic but then if use science or repair on the computer i don't get any message (neither you can't repair it nor you do not have the ability to repair it)...

Are you on a Windows Me or 9x machine? There used to be a crash bug on that map and it's possible killap forgot to use the fixed map.

Nope. I'm using XP. Sorry, I should have mentioned that because I remember reading about that particular bug while trying to solve my own.

The funny thing is, when I played the first RP a year or so ago, the Primitive Tribe worked fine. Mind you, it was a different install, but on the same machine/OS.

We are talking about the same quest. And it's the computer on the yellow level, and you are using repair from the skilldex buttons?
Both from playing and from looking at the script I don't see how it can't work for you. Could you please provide a save game?

That's odd. So have you been to the primitive tribe at all this game or does it crash the first time you get there?

I am a moron... I had 75% in repair... I controlled the requirements while i was using mentats, but during the travel i lost the bonus... I hope I didn' t take too much of your time...

Nah, no problem. Glad we got it sorted out. :)

First, Tanks for Killap and all contributors for this release !

Here some issue/bug to which I was confronted :

- The cavern in Primitive Tribe was bugged as I could not move the screen. In fact, I had the impression I could move the cursor in the black screen but not in the real map.
- When coming back to Downtown from the Residential area in the Den, the screen is not centered on the hero, which resulted to black squires on the screen.
- Contrary to what I observed in RP 1.2, the map Residential Area in the Den did not change with the creation of the orphanage : it was still the same place occupied by squatters.
- Minor issue : in ghost farm, in the place where Johny is, there is a small girl that has still the boy critter.
- I had the possibility to speak with the merchant in San Francisco (don't remember his name) about vertibirds and my tribe thought I did not had the GECK nor saw Hakunin's dead yet.
- In abbey, I was awarded for having killed the Deathclaw and bringing back the book by the leader although he did not give my this quest. Maybe he should have say that he was happy I did this without refering to a quest of which I was unaware.
- I got a Kaga encounter in the same time with another encounter (let's says, slavers). Is it intentional ?
- During my battles at San Franciso against Dragon's disciples, my allies shot my opponent... That made the battle easier but I think it is not allowed.
- After having took the Vertibird during salvatore quest, I was conducted to the Commander, but he did not attack me after I said something that normally should have annoy him :)
- About an issue I was always wandering in Klamath : why it is not possible to help Torr after having refuse to help him ? Because this means that if we did not accept the quest the first time we talk to him, we will never be able to help him after and therefore complete the "rustle brahming" quest. I did not see here why there are such restrictions.

I hope this could help the modding community for better and better gameplay !

It crashes when I first step foot in there, so I haven't been there at all this game. I should pretty much have the same sort of set up as I did when I played through on the first RP, so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

I get "unable to save game" error on every save slot. How do I fix this ?

Using Windows XP, game installed in custom folder (on a different hd, never had such problems with F2)

Sorry for quoting myself, but I still didn't find a way around this. I tried anything I could think of; uninstalling, installing in different place etc.

I can't see any "rock at the start of the game"? Help!!!!

Here's couple screenshots about the rock in question. If you aren't seeing it, there's something wrong with your installation. Could you provide more information about your installation (installation size and location, did you install RP manually or using installer) and system (OS, 32/64-bit)?

Popping in for another quick emergency update. I haven't read any of the posts since page 15 and I don't plan to until I return in a few days. I just wanted to get this out there since it was a fairly nasty issue.

Update 2d (2.0.2d)
-Already includes all previous updates
-Removed the unimplemented vault door at V15 which prevented players from entering the vault. You must enter the vault area for the first time for the fix to work - Just the vault area, not the squatter area or the shack with the elevator.

Download and extract it to your main Fallout 2 directory. Overwrite the files already there. You know it is updated if the rock at the start of the game says 2.0.2d.

EDIT: Part of full release as of 4:42 pm EST

I can't enter Carlson's house ALTHOUGH I have both talked to Merk (gave him $50 for info on security), and stole Gunther's papers (and tried using it on the guard in-front of the entrance).

Both of these methods would work in the vanilla version (as well as in the RP 1.2).

This is quite a deal breaker for me, as I very much like blowing him up :-)

Has anyone else encountered this?

P.S.
Great work on the RP,
thanks for anyone who was involved.

They only way to assassinate Carlson without beeing shot afterwards is to disable the forcefield emitters, then go in and pass the small gate to the lower right garden and shoot him through the window. The guards won't attack you if you manage to kill him in 1 attack.

Thanks for the advice.
I ended up using a dynamite on the force field emitter, then once it was destroyed I could enter the yard and kill Carlson from the
window.

However, shouldn't it be possible to shut down the force field by using the presidential papers (you steal from Tandy's assistant) on the officer next to the force field (I tried it and it did nothing) ?
isn't this a bug?

Woohoo, thanks killap!

.Pixote,

Regarding the EPA doors: I agree with Darek, it doesn't make much scientific or aesthetic sense to have the rusty doors in the fairly clean looking EPA. For the doors to rust they would have to be in contact with liquid phase water, and if that was the case then more than just the doors would be rusted. But more importantly, the aesthetics of it just doesn't look 'right' with the clean EPA walls / floors.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I think I found a bug.
When I press new game, create a new character, and save it, it get's saved into "<Fallout2>\Appearance\HMR00S00" and I couldn't load that character file.
Obviously copying that file to the game's main dir works just fine, but I *think* it's not exactly how it's suppose to work ;)

EDIT: Windows 7 x64 here.
